I found and started using QF after "Additional folders view" no longer worked in TB 3.0.1. QF works very nicely, but somehow its tabs and those now in TB3 seem a bit clunky together, sometimes they seem to get in each other's way. Eg/zB I have 6 QF tabs and at the moment 4 TB tabs showing. When I click on one of the QF tabs, then it uses the currently selected TB tab for that, which I may have wanted to keep as it was.
Maybe someday an option to cause a click on a QF tab to open a new TB tab, especially when one of the QF tabs is pointing to a folder with many subfolders, where I right-click (very nice!) to select the folder I want. Or maybe a click on a QF tab causes a new TB tab to open if and only if the associated folder isn't already open in a TB tab? Otherwise go to the TB tab which already has that folder open. Or something like that. Just some random ravings.
Thanks for a great add-on, Bob
Hi Bob, thanks for the detailed review. I must say I have thought very long and hard about how QuickFolders interacts with the new tabbed model in Thunderbird; clicking a QF tab I would always expect to "jump me to the folder" no matter where I am. But instead of opening a new tab every time and possibly creating mayhem on an already busy User Interface I opted to use either the current tab (if that displayed mail) or the first folder tab (if current tab was not a mail tab).
However - version 1.8.8 supports opening a new mail Tab when you hold down the CTRL key while clicking the Quickfolder or one of the sub menus.
