Too bad that there is no current version, which is compatible with the latest version of Thunderbird.

Since Mozilla feels their products should also be used as emergency beacons (the only explanation for being so bright white), I needed to tone it down.
I've used this theme for a while, which does almost everything I need. While there is a mild issue with unselecting a single email in a group (might just be Thunderbird), this mild issue is blown away by how much of an improvement this is over the standard view.
After this recent update, I was almost willing to use gmail.com, just to save my eyes. Then I found I could re-enable this, egads.... so much better.
And those "themes" that only change the top bar, those are pointless. You are still left with a barren white page straight out of the 80s. Who cares what the title bar looks like, I'm looking at the actual screen more than one little section.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the theme. I have been away from ongoing development for a bit of time, so it's nice to know that you've still found this useful/usable on recent versions.

This is a very nice, clean, dark theme for Mozilla Thunderbird. I adore it's simple yet sleek design.

This is by far the best Tunderbird theme, delivering good contrast without being depressingly dark. It makes the Thunderbird interface clear and easy to read.
The one drawback of this theme is that the updates are always behind the Tunderbird release schedule, meaning it doesn't work half the time and you're stuck with the default user interface.

Great theme! Provides plenty of contrast and a darker screen for those of us who don't like to be blinded while we work at night!

I absolutely love this theme and have been using it for Thunderbird 3 and FF for over a year now. The contrast is just right and it is much easier on the eyes than just about any other theme out there. Please update for TB5!!!!

Not for me. I've had this installed for quite a few months now, and check it every now and again. Simply way too extreme for me. Dark blue on black is almost impossible to read in the email list. It's far too much of a strain. Sorry, it's gotta go. Too bad too, because I actually do like a lot of dark themes. This one is just too much.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ....finally someone has their head screwed on. This theme is the best it is the most simple and streamlined of all the themes the tones and highlighting are correct ...Please Keep updating this theme ...I cannot stand office black its not really black and who chose white back with orange highlight bar and the huge ugly nondescript icons... those people are lost .....I cannot live without this theme please keep updating ...LOVE THIS THEME

I just discovered that Pitch Dark hides the Manage Identities and the Config buttons in the account settings of Thunderbird 3.0.4

A very attractive theme, thank you....i'm using it on Mac OSX Snow Leopard and my screen is glossy, so it really looks spectacular! :-)
I've noticed that, because there are no formatting buttons to be seen on the composing window, i need to go to the menu bar at the top to do anything in that respect, which is really no biggie...i like its clean interface and neat, unobtrusive icons.
No offence to Mozilla, but this sure beats the daylights out of the default for style ;-)
If i didn't like my Gato Cinza Firefox theme so much, i'd be looking to use the PitchDark theme for it, too...(might d/l it and give it a whirl anyway)
