According to Muon, I have the latest version. They say 1:115.16.0+build2-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 which is what I have
This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.Hi Adrian,
I notice you're using Thunderbird version 115.16.0 ESR. I strongly recommend upgrading to version 128 "Nebula", which brings major improvements in stability and performance.
This new version includes a complete overhaul of both the code and user interface.
Unfortunately, my addon is no longer compatible with versions prior to 128, as it uses the new message sorting features introduced in the recent API.
---------------------------------------
Here's the procedure to update to the latest version:
First, remove the current version:
sudo apt remove thunderbird
Install the new version via snap:
sudo snap install thunderbird --channel=latest/stable
To verify you have the latest version:
snap list thunderbird
---------------------------------------
Don't worry, this update will:
Preserve all your emails and settings
Update automatically in the future
Provide a better user experience
Allow you to use my addon
If you encounter any difficulties during the installation, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Jennova
PS: Let me explain why you see version 115 in Ubuntu's official repositories while Thunderbird 128 already exists:
Ubuntu prioritizes stability over having the latest versions. Packages in official repositories go through extensive testing and validation processes before being released. This is especially true for LTS (Long Term Support) versions of Ubuntu.
That's why we use snap for Thunderbird - it allows us to get the latest version directly from Mozilla, bypassing Ubuntu's longer release cycle, while maintaining system stability and security.
Think of it like this: Ubuntu's repositories are like a carefully curated library (stable but slower to update), while snap is more like a direct subscription to the publisher (faster updates but still secure).
Personally, I use Arch Linux, a distribution that follows a "rolling release" philosophy where updates are immediate. It's perfect for developers who need the latest versions to test their code and who like having total control over their system. But for professional or general use, Ubuntu's approach is excellent as it prioritizes stability and ease of use. That's why we offer this snap solution as the perfect compromise - you get the latest version of Thunderbird while keeping Ubuntu's stability!

Hola, por algun motivo cuando exporta el CSV este se encuentra siempre vacio ¿cual puede ser mi problema?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.0).Hello Alejandro ;)
I've been examining the code to identify potential issues or errors. While I'm still investigating, I've noticed that in certain cases, especially when all options are checked, it's possible that no emails are extracted.
Here are some potentially problematic scenarios:
Combination of options:
When all options are activated (for example: exclude duplicates, export to CSV, include email names), the combination of these filters could over-filter the allEmails array, sometimes resulting in an empty array if all emails are considered duplicates.
Absence of emails in certain fields:
Depending on the selected field (author, replyTo, recipients), some messages may not contain emails in these specific fields, especially if the options are combined in a restrictive manner.
Unexpected header formats:
Some emails may have unexpected or missing header formats, which could prevent the correct extraction of email addresses, particularly when multiple filters are applied simultaneously.
To better pinpoint the issue, I suggest you try extracting 2 or 3 distinctly different emails, just to test the CSV export. This will help us identify whether the problem is related to specific emails or to the export functionality itself.
I'm continuing to investigate. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need more details or if you have any additional questions.
Best regards,
Jennova

Hello, could you also add the extraction of recipients please.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.2).Hello :)
I'm thrilled to announce that I've added a new feature to our extension! You can now extract email addresses from recipients, in addition to senders. I've included the "To", "Cc", and "Bcc" fields for more comprehensive extraction. I hope this enhancement will make the extension even more useful for you!
version 1.4.0 of the extension is currently under review by the Thunderbird teams. It should be available for download very soon.
I hope this addition will earn me an extra star :P

It is working fine. But it extract maximum 100 email only. I have more than 40000 emails. What to do
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.2).Hello drluhar! Thanks for the rating, it's really motivating!
I'll look into what can be done or if it's due to a limitation of Thunderbird.
EDIT 27.09.2024:
Hello drluhar!
I have excellent news.
I managed to overcome the 100-message limitation we had discussed. Version 1.6.0 of the extension is currently under review by the Thunderbird team.

please add the ability to copy addresses from the "reply to" field
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1).Hi Kevin!
I have great news to share: version 1.3.1 of our addon is ready!
This update includes the feature you requested for copying addresses from the "Reply-To" field. Plus, we've got a brand new logo for the addon! I can't wait for you to see it and try out the new functionality.
The approval process by Mozilla may take a few hours or days, but don't worry. Once it's available, you'll just need to update the addon on Thunderbird via the settings in the addon management section.
Thank you again for your suggestion; it will really improve the addon. If you have any other ideas or feedback once you've tested this new version, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Thank you so much for the rating! I really appreciate your support. I hope that with these improvements, you might consider adding that missing star! :P
