This add-on was great, but since it’s no longer maintained, I’ve created a modern rewrite called BetterUnsubscribe with new features and improvements. If you’re looking for an updated solution, feel free to check it out. I'd love your feedback!

Right now, this addon from GitHub works well as an alternative:
Amunak/thunderbird-list-unsubscribe-addon
Thanks to "@Firefox user d8f147" for this tip! :)

Qu'est-ce que cette extension fou ici ? On a une popup avec "Default Text" et 3 boutons : "Ok", "Yes" et "No" et rien derrière. Les devs n'ont clairement pas terminé et l'ont mis en prod, bravo.

Doesn't seem to work and the Yes/No pop-up is confusing. But does seem to detect List-Unsubscribe headers correctly. I recommend Amunak/thunderbird-list-unsubscribe-addon on GitHub.

Ne fonctionne pas
Une boite de dialogue avec Yes No Default apparait et ne sert à rien

worked well until recent addon update, just displays a popup containing "Default Text" Ok, No, Yes

not seeing the unsubscribe button even when there is definitely an unsubscribe link in the email so i assume this is still broken as of 2024

Was good once but still doesn't work with the 115 update, so with the updated FF-version it's useless.

Doesn't work.

It was great, but no longer works after 115.
Since the developer said they are going to update it, I can honestly rerate it ahead with 5.
We're in the process of preparing an updated version. Stay tuned.

Very good addon, extremely useful, finally Unsubscribed from Quora.

does the job, but the button should be on the left, not the right. Because some mail can be unsubscribed and some not, the right button appears and disappears, moving the position of the delete button. When deleting a bunch, you'd like that button to not be moving around.

The addon definitely works, but there's some issues that keep it from being amazing.
1. The unsubscribe email window is created using the default email, not the email address you're unsubscribing from. So you always have to manually fix the sending email address when sending.
2. There are always 2 dialog boxes you have to click Yes on with no way to disable it. It's useful to have explanation the first time, but at some point it becomes unnecessary extra clicking.
3. The icon colour doesn't properly theme like other icon colours (for me, all other icon colours are white, but this one is black, so it's black on black).
If those issues could be fixed this addon would be amazing.

I am very confused in how to use this add-on. Don't know if it's me or the add-on that doesn't work. If you can explain to me how to use it then I will give a higher rating.

Could you please modify the plugin so that the UNSUBSCRIBE button is to the left of the REPLY button, instead of to the right? When I want to delete multiple emails in a row, I can no longer keep clicking on the DELETE button because the UNSUBSCRIBE button sometimes appears and moves the other buttons to the left. Thanks.
Edit: adding an option to disable the button instead of removing it would be great, thanks!
Thanks for your response. Thunderbird places this button automatically and we have no possibility to adjust this behavior. We might always display the button, but disable it in case unsubscribe makes no sense. Would that be more convenient?

It is now showing on Add-ons as available, thanks. I just did an unsubscribe and it worked as it should.
I will monitor success, as I just tried it on a website which consistently spams, and is a legit company, and will see if they take us off their mailing list
