CloseReview for Topic Tree / Notebook and Wiki in TB by Krystyna
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I have been using Microsoft, and have used OneNote for years. I have grown tired of cloud based system, always paying a monthly fee, for what seems like everything these days. OneNote has been a great tool.
I came back to try Thunderbird after what must be 20 years, but still needed a notes system. I was interested to find Topic Tree Notes. It's not quite like OneNote, but it's getting there.
At first I thought it was just a basic text notes, and that you cannot add pictures or cut snippets from the web. Interestingly, the developer has used Microsoft's 'three dots' for the more menu, where I could insert links, images, etc... I became amazed and really happy to find something like oneNote, not quite, and good enough for me to move away from MS, and stop using notes thats on the cloud like evernote, notion etc...
I would buy this product but have sent a small donation for now, I am surprised there are only 2 reviews, this add-on is worthy of so much more. To the developer Klause, please, do continue if you are able, you have something here and I'm very happy.
This add-on completes what I need, I actually even like it within Thunderbird, something Outlook could have done, and I like the use of the Notes X addon to insert a topic tree note into emails.
My only gripe, is lack of autosave, but that is okay as I either haven't worked it out, or I just need to be strict to save, and make sure I do regular backups, which is not a problem.
Thank you. :-)
Thanks for your kind words.
There is even a (still hidden) way to sync between PC's or into a public or private cloud.
I am looking into how easy (aka firewall rules and stuff like that) this sync is to setup for "normal" people, it might come soon.
