CloseReviews for OpenDownload² by Ryudo
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is not a 'new' review, but a response to the Developer.
Sorry for not responding sooner, my OS is Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1) x64. The downloads that were failing were all .exe files, and it doesn't matter where it came from, it always gave the error.
I have no idea why it does it, because it works perfectly fine in 3.4.3 but fails to work in 3.5.x.
Browser versions I tried it on were FireFox 25.0.1 and Firefox 28.0.
Anything relevant in the error console?
(Maybe you'd better send me some e-mail so this doesn't spoil the reviews :-))

After updating to 3.5.0 (or 3.5.1, not sure which one, but one of these broke it). It kept giving me the error:
"[filename].[type] could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."
Looking up the file assocations in Firefox; I found nothing wrong with these.
Installing version 3.4.3 of OpenDownload² does not make this error appear, and it functions perfectly fine.
Something in the newer versions somehow breaks it, and I'm not sure what.. Other than that it's still one of my favorite (and most commonly used) addons. Keep up the great work.
Which download was it? Which OS?

This is one of the most useful addons to have for later FireFoxes, but sadly as of FF21 it stopped working with the latest update of OpenDownload2 (v3.4.2). Reverting back to OpenDownload2 v3.4.1 makes it work again in newer FireFox browsers.Hopefully this will be fixed in 3.4.3. Until then I'll be forced to continue using the older 3.4.1 to get it to work with FireFox 21+
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.4.2.1-signed).Ah, thanks for the hint. I reverted some change in 3.4.2 and pushed 3.4.3. Hope it works ...
