It was simple and amazing, but it does not work with Thunderbird 44 anymore. :-(

Thank you much. I installed this addon after having read about it on mozillazine. I can finally easily read pesky emails from craigslist that otherwise appeard blank!

Is there a way that you can modify this add-on such that it could change the text format in a composition window?
For example: I start writing a message in Plain Text and then change my mind and want to switch to Original HTML or whatever.
Would you be willing to add this feature to your add-on?

This is exactly what I was looking for. I can shift-click on the reply or forward button to temporarilly compose in html format. Thanks so much!

Great! I've been looking for a way to switch between text and HTML quickly in Thunderbird quickly (without changing default settings for the account). This does the job well.

A nice simple extension, but the one thing I have been looking to do (forward as HTML) is held back by a Thunderbird bug. I always use plain text but sometimes I want to forward as HTML an HTML email that someone has sent me and shift-fwd doesn't work. The temporary solution is to shift-reply then change the receiver's address. When the bug is fixed, this extension will be very useful but until then, there is no real advantage.

I find this very useful. I can reply to an email sent in html & multiple colors, and retain the format and colors of the original email in my reply.
I don't understand AA's comment re allow_html_temp? Using that extension, I could not get the fonts and colors in the original email to be preserved in my reply box, despite trying the various combinations offered?
I look forward to further development of this extension.
Thanks.

Nice.
But the proven Addon "Allow HTML temp" does the same thing:

Is it possible to hide the "pig"-button, if the message is only in Plain-Text?
