This addon doesn't seem to do anything helpful. The problem most of us are trying to solve is the delay in message loading time caused by multiple signatures with logo files as part of those signatures, that are imbedded in a long string of replies and replies to replies, etc. These are the "stacked" signatures that need to be removed with just the current signature for the current reply being shown. This program does not do that at all. It doesn't claim to do that, but it seems others referencing this addon think it does that. It doesn't. I also don't like that it adds visible characters to my signature, which alone would make it unusable for my tastes. I'm afraid it just doesn't do anything useful.
I found that Achims' "NestedQuote Remover" does the trick for now. It gets rid of stacked signatures and excess stacked quote backs. You can configure how many levels of nested quote backs to allow and the rest are eliminated along with the stacked signatures.

Works perfectly for me. Does exactly what I needed it to do.

This does NOT remove double signatures (stacked signatures) from answers to emails you sent before. It seems to be a workaround for an (old?) bug in the email composer.

I don't know why so any sites point to this extension as a solutions to the signature stacking issue.
It DOES remove the signature on reply but ONLY if you change the account in the From field.
WHY would I want to do that?
I want to reply from MY email account.
So it works as advertised but is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike for 99.9% of Thunderbird users.
Please make it work for replies from the account at which the email is received.
