I miss this essential extension....

This add-on for saving outgoing messages easily and effectively is what convinced me to use thunderbird. I miss it in the current TB. Add-in tool Copy Sent to Current is similar yet not quite as useful for me.

I am staying on TB52 until this essential addon is updated!
TB is a nightmare without it.
I particularly appreciate that in the Folder selection list, you can type a letter or number and it jumps to the next folder starting with that letter/number. (I number my folders in the priority I want them in the folder pane. :))

Oh Paolo. chissà se ci fai il regalo di aggiornare la tua utilissima estensione di TB. Ne sento continuamente la mancanza! Grazie comunque! Riccardo

Yes, please update this. E-Mail w/o it is a pain.

I have just updated TB and found that this add-on doesn't work with 68.1.0. My earlier 60.x tweak makes no difference.
Email without this feature is literally unbearable if you are a power user. I think it should be made a permanent feature of ALL email clients. This add-on places outgoing emails where you need them, not where a dumb default decides.
Paolo, I would be very willing to help in making this work under 68.x
Just write what you need from us users on this page?
Thank you for your really useful tools

I would like to have this plugin, but isn't compatible with my version of TB. Any chance of an update for the 60.* crowd?

I decided to roll back and stop updating Thunderbird instead of losing this fundamental plugin

Very important plugin for the sake of agility and organization. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with current Thunderbird versions (used the fix but the folder list is always empty). Would also be able to support development efforts to solve this.

Love this add on. Saves lots of time.
Unfortunately same here, the below mentioned fix allows it to install, but it fails to read the folders, so the folder list is empty :/
Pleaseplease make it working in v60.
In any case, all thumbs up to Kaosmos.

I love this add-on but the tweak mentioned doesn't work for me in that there are no folders showing. And clicking "skip" doesn't do anything -- everything still ends up in my "Sent" folder.

A first class add-on which allows folks with complex email use to stay organised and know where emails are. Class A software and one of the few add-ons I have never had a problem with. Shame if it is to be terminated.

I've used this add-on for many years and find it really useful. Just today (I assume with a Thunderbird update - now 52.9.1) there is an error in assigning the send address. I have multiple e-mail addresses in Thunderbird and when I use Send and File the e-mail is sent with an e-mail address other than the one I'm sending from.
I know this is a really old add-on - so don't know if it's maintained any more - but I'd love to be able to keep using it.

Heute auf deutsch: Als langjähriger PegasusMail User habe ich lange eine Möglichkeit gesucht, die Email DIREKT nach dem versenden in einen Ordner zu verschieben (oder dies ggf. ganz zu überspringen). [Send and File] macht genau das.

I only recently sought out a solution to my problem of mailbox bloat. Based on my current role, it is critical for me to retain a trail of email documentation for interactions conducted with numerous parties.
However, in so doing, I found that my Inbox, Sent Box, and other folders were beginning to suffer from bloat and disorganization.
This add-on has helped immediately -- on sending emails in Thunderbird, I am able to immediately file messages to either permanent archival folders, into "timed" archive folders which I delete on a periodic schedule, or into the Trash folder. Of significant use is the ability to file both my sent message and the message I'm replying to at the same time.
I have seen a marked difference in bloat in my inbox and sent boxes. I attribute this improvement to the Send and File addon.
Grazie!

I use this extension everyday to keep correspondence well organized. One aspect that could be improved is the finding of sub-folders. Currently, if a sub-tree of folders is collapsed, the extension won't search for any folder within the sub-tree. I have to manually expand a sub-tree and then type the folder name again. Also, the search algorithm only searches folder names that BEGIN with the typed sequence, rather than folders that have the sequence anywhere in the name. Thus, a search for A7 will not return a folder named BA7. I'd like to see this extension use a search algorithm similar to the one in Quick Folder Move 1.2 by Philipp Kewisch, which returns a list of sub-folders partially matching a search term and regardless of location in a folder tree.

I finally figured out how to define favourite folders on OS X. In the Preferences of Send and File or when the Send and File dialog is being displayed it's possible to edit favourite folders via the Thunderbird Menu Bar.

I am considering moving over to PostBox (which supports Quick Look on OSX among other niceties), but I'm not sure I can make it without your very very very useful extension ... I see that you already made the Import/Export tools available to PostBox users ... would you consider doing the same for this extension ?
Thanks !
Pierre.

another item in the wishlist : it shall be nice to have the last 5 or 10 folders selected to be proposed in the Favorite Folders tab...

I couldn't edit my above review, so here's the update: the author & I exchanged a couple of emails (he got with me very promptly), and it works beautifully now. This is an incredibly handy Extension, and saves me LOTS of time scrolling to & fro to file my mails. Just exactly what I was looking for! Big THANKS to Paulo for saving me frustration with my OCD!
