I'm on Mac OS 10.6.8. Do not ask me which cat this is; I can't keep track.
FF version 18.0.
I've only just installed FontFinder, so let's assume it is the most recent version.
Here's my version of Only Works Once:
FontFinder always does its thing on the first page I use it on. But if I open a different page in the same window or tab, _sometimes_ it will work only the first time, or not at all. I can't pinpoint the variables except that it doesn't depend on how I got there (link from previous page vs. address entered "cold").
If I open a new window, FontFinder will always work on the first page, even if it's a page it previously refused to work on. Refreshing the page has no effect. _Sometimes_ (not always) a new tab is enough.
On the present site (mozilla dot org), Font Finder will continue to work across multiple pages, whether in new tabs or the same one. But this is probably the same principle as "It worked fine when the repairman looked at it."

The difference between other users that have this issue is that I'm on Win7.
Here's some info you may need:
Win7 64b, FF 17.0.1
This extension is vital, if you can find a solution for this issue, we'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
Can you post a step-by-step walk through, with actual links, to reproduce the issue? Posting it on the GitHub issue for this problem - https://github.com/ecaron/firefox-font-fonder/issues/1 - would be great.

A must-have add-on for web designers!
It is easy and fast to use - use the eyedropper tool OR highlight and right click. And it gives me exactly the info I need: font stack vs. rendered font, size, color, spacing - without overloading me with info I don't need or want to search through (like the developer tools add-on sometimes does).
One of the only reasons I use firefox anymore is to use this add-on. And it's worth it, download!

as the last review, just works for ONE time.
then restart the browser to use again.
I am on linux
I'm on Linux too. As a Linux user, when reporting a bug, I typically find it more beneficial to getting quality report when I say what version of Linux and what versions of other stuff (such as what version of Firefox you're using.)
Also, a step-by-step with links would been incredibly useful. If I can spend 20 fewer minutes trying to reproduce the issue, that's 20 more minutes I can spend fixing the issue.
But I've already invested/wasted those 20 minutes reproducing the issue, and I can see it now. I'll post an update once it is resolved.

Hi Eric,
Try here: http://fiddle.tinymce.com/kaaaab. Select any text in the TinyMCE example (not the source code textarea but the working example). I downloaded the add-on specifically to find out what font TinyMCE was loading. Thanks.

I think it just doesn't like frames, I see this issue on other framed pages
It is still working for me on Firefox 9. Can you provide more details into what page you're on and what you're selecting to help me reproduce and fix the problem?

Sorry, let me explain: I can install if into TB by bumping up the max version number in the rdf, but it doesn't work. It appears neither in the context menu or in the status bar. (The one star is because it's not working in TB. When it does, it will get five.)

Excellent! It's a MUST-HAVE for anybody even remotely concerned with web technologies.

This is a great add-on. There are a couple of things I'd like to see added such as show text-shadow, copy as computed CSS rule, keyboard short-cut. Also the ability to keep inspecting fonts until deactivate. Usually I like to see what's used for the body text, heading text, and others in one session. Actually, best thing would be to see some sort of a report of what's used on the page, but that's a lot to ask.

Does not work for TB 3.1.2
I am actually looking for a font-killer that allows to remove the 30kB of font information sent by Outlook mails.
And also to get rid of the confusing TB font management of signatures and use of <BR> statements when compiling an e-mail.
Couldn't test it though...

Works always very nicely.
Features like "Copy to Editor"/"Generate Template File from Selection" .. or maybe Links to related sites/generators could be added.

This one works a treat. It doesn't only give the name of the font. It also provides more details information too. Just what i needed.

Excellent addon, it has helped me a lot during bug fixes.
How can we get the font information for text in "textbox" or "textarea" ?
Thank you very much....

Very good. helped me to find the damaged font I had.
I had a huge ugly font on some sites. Font Finder showed me that the font is "Helvetica Neue", I removed the font and the webpages now look like they should again...
Thank you very much!!
