Provider for Google Calendar continues to work fine for me after I upgraded to TB 60.

I had version 4.4.1 installed already when I still used TB 59.X. Also I had (and still have) the option javascript.enabled set to true and according to several comments here this was crucial for the update process to work.

Anyway, after installing TB 60, the Lightning addon was apparently automatically updated to version 6.2. and everything seems to run smoothly. I had only a small minor issue mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/calendar-updates-issues-thunderbird
I had to set Monday to first day of the week again.

Currently broken on thunderbird 59 for v4.4.1 - no calendars are listed when attempting to add a new calendar. I used the CalDav method instead and it worked fine

Was working great a few iterations ago. It works on 60 BUT I have to login to each calendar I want to display. Tedious, but workable. Emails to the dev to unanswered so I assume it's been abandoned. I've scoured the web for possible solutions. As much as I like having Lightning, it's not the only game in town. Adios, PFGC.

Used to be a great way of working with Google Calendar. However, at this point, even if you can subscribe to a calendar, no all of the information associated with an event will show up. Basically, if someone's using Google calendar to organize a Hangout or phone-call, the "Join by Hangouts" and/or "Join by Phone" fields aren't visible. Event organizers (that can be bothered to do so) have to dupe information into the generic "Description" event-field.

Anyone know any replacements for this plugin? Seems to have become abandonware.

Very useful over the years but currently broken. Running TBird 59 and PfGC 4.4.1, no calendars are listed when attempting to add a new calendar. I've cleared cookies and cache, reinstalled add-on, re-authenticated my Gmail account but nothing works. If I miss a WVU game, it's on you Phillipp! heh j/k kinda

Not working anymore. The suggestes CALdev (https://addons.thunderbird.net/nl/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/reviews/1154724/) doesn;t work either: I can create the calendar but not activate it.

Has served well over the years for the most part. I'v also run into issues recently though, being unable to add new calendars. In my case I removed the extension entirely and restarted TBird. On restart the extension force reinstalled itself and prompted for login credentials. Thankfully that fixed the issues I was having and I can now add calendars again. It's like an update did not go correctly at some point.

When the Provider for Google Calendar version is updated to 4.4 or 4.4.1, when I open an event setting alarm in the calendar, the alarm will change to "none" and it will be displayed.

Wonderful addon - since it is working again.

I had the Javascript-Problem. For me the solution was to set the 'javascript.enable' switch to 'true'

Go to: Tools > Options > Advanced > General and click "config editor".

Search for the javascript.enable
Set the value on 'true'
Restart TB

After the calendar has established the connection, it is possible to change the preference back to 'false'.

Problem solved! See below!

---
Sorry for using the rating for feedback. Just to say it: After the update I have the same problem with the request for cookies. Thus, the add-on does not work on my PC with Thunderbird 52.9.1, Provider for Google Calendar 4.4.1.

Updates:
Installed, Thunderbird 60.0, same problem.
Installed Provider for Google Calendar, older Version 4.4, same problem.

(The last PfGC version I could use was 3.3, but it is not declared to be compatible with TB 60.0. so I don't try it.)

Problem solved in the options for Thunderbird:
Privacy -> enable Cookies for Websites
pref.privacy.disable_button.view_cookies -> true

I have two google calendars that I would like to see, and my wife has shared one. The shared one I can see, and one of mine, but I cannot add the last one - when I try, I get a completely empty window from which I'm supposed to pick a calendar - but there is none to click on, so I can't continue.

After update to v52.9.1 I had to enable javascript in Thunderbird (not Firefox) to get the Gcal to prompt for login in order to sync.

Tools|Options|Advanced|General|Config.Editor
then type javascript.enabled at the top and make sure the option is true (grayed out as a default value)
