This is excellent.
I see it as a compliment to noscript, not a replacement.
They were made for each other.

I always noticed that my browser locked up after downloading cookies from crossdomain sites and connections. This program is helping to block them enough so that my browser no longer locks up. It is surprising how often the big name sites deploy horrible scripting and advertising java scripts that mess with my computer, this somehow helps block all of that. I am truly impressed with it.
It does take a little getting used to, but it remembers your settings, so, yay!!!
I do like this program. I hope it will work with the next firefox upgrade. :) Keep up the good work, Sir, and thank you for making this free for us who can't pay you what you deserve for this program. Thank you.
Thanks, and I'm glad it has helped your browser lockup issues. RequestPolicy has been tested on and is ready for Firefox 3.5, but more testing on the latest Firefox 3.5 beta is welcome! Send me any bugs you find.

Since trying this add on I have been able to drop both NoScript and Adblock Plus with do noticeable detriment and a significant increase in speed.
I love the fact that I can see exactly what each website is trying to do and the whitelisting is far less intrusive than NoScript.
I am usually happy for locally hosted scripts to run - this add on enables me to block 3rd party scripts while minimising site breakage. Thanks!
Minor buglet: there appears to be a timing issue with some websites: on the first visit, no scripts seem to run (it looks like it's even blocked the StyleSheet), but on the second visit (or following a refresh), the web page is displayed correctly.
I'm glad you like RequestPolicy (though, I highly recommend keeping NoScript). As for the bug, please let me know if you are able to repeat this or have further information about it so that I can root it out. Thanks!

This is my new favourite add-on! :-)
But I'm afraid I noticed one bug: You can't update Firefox to the new version 3.08 whithout deactivating RequestPolicy...
Thank you immensely for reporting this. Version 0.5.5 permanently whitelists requests from downloads.mozilla.org to other sites, as those update requests appear to redirect off-site now.

I love this addon, but I'd like the ability to put domains on blacklist, so RequestPolicy won't turn red if only blacklisted domains present on the site, as You can do it in NoSript (Untrusted domains).
Thank You!

Minor improvement request: can you ellipsize the redirect notification? Redirects to long urls make a scrollbar appear.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.3).Thanks for the suggestion. Version 0.5.4 changes the redirect notification so that ellipsis are used if the destination is long.

When I became aware of all the privacy and security issues related to cross site requests, I was hoping Firefox had a built-in option to block these requests by default. While I was sad to learn that this was not the case, this excellent addon has fulfilled that critical role. I think it should come default with the functionality of the browser. Great, simple interface and well-thought out temporary permissions model.

icon instead of text in statusbar would be much better!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.10).Thanks for your feedback. A smaller status bar icon is now the default.

This add-on could prove very useful, but I would love a toolbar button that does exactly what the current statusbar item does. As it currently is, the statusbar item takes too much space, since it's words and not even an icon. But thanks for providing this functionality. I'm definitely happy to have this on my Firefox.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.10).Release 0.1.12 includes a toolbar button you can add. Thanks for the suggestion, it helped me realize how many people wanted a toolbar button.

Because it's possible to block pop-ups now. I check it on imagefap etc. Simple handling and customers friendly. Not so bloated up as NoScript at present time. A additional toolbar button would be helpful for better rule service.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.8).Thanks for the feedback. I will very soon be adding a preferences window where people have control over certain options they do not currently (e.g. choosing a smaller status bar icon, viewing/editing whitelisted origins/destinations/origins-to-destinations, exporting and importing whitelists, etc.)
This is the first request I've received for a toolbar button. Could you let me know if you meant that this would just be a way to access a preferences/options window or if there are other actions you would like to be able to access from a toolbar button? Don't hesitate to email me directly if you prefer.
(Also, RequestPolicy does not stop malicious scripts on the current website, so NoScript is still a great extension to use for people concerned about security and the scripts/flash/etc. on websites you visit. I love NoScript and highly recommend it!)
Thanks!
