Got my Blackberry and Thunderbird/Lightning install syncing their calendars :) So very pleased so far.

Just a few glitches with duplications but I think that is me gCalSync (app to sync BB to google) not using settings right.

if they had an option of 9.5 I would give that. it would be great if existing google calendars where able to be converted either automatically or manually to full read/write with this extension.

This was fixed in the latest nightlies and will be part of the next release.

All in all, this add-on is spectacular. It "provides" a bi-directional interface for Lightning to access GCal.

Apart from the mentioned issues, it doesn't seem to allow editing of a single instance of a repeating event. In fact, editing repeating events at all is a bit of a problem. Hopefully this will be taken care of in the next release...

Works nicely except for two glitches:

1. Inviting others to tasks/events is not allowed. Check-box that should enable this is grayed out and cannot be activated.

2. Incoming invites are added automatically to the calendar, regardless of whether you accept or decline.

Can't complain much, though -- this is a great add-on, and I'd be lost without it.

This is the most valuable Thunderbird extension I've installed so far! It makes both Thunderbird and Google Calendar so much more useful. My only gripes are with Lightening, and as that extensions gets stronger, this one will be more and more useful. Thanks!

I am unable to create repeating events in my Google calendar by using this extension, and I can not use the extension to delete repeating events that already in my Google calendar. Other than this moderately irritating issue the extension is a great addition to Sunbird.

Absolutely fantastic extension. Makes my life a lot easier and makes the calendar much more functional. It has the same caveats as the Lightening in general.

Somebody commented they like it but it doesn't sync to the desktop. Take a look at lightning.

this and lightning made it possible for me to completely dump M$ office. It would be nice if it kept a copy of the google data locally for times when not connected to the internet.. but I can live with it the way it is.

Keep up the good work and keep it working with the new builds

I love this add-on. It is very simple to add calendars - basically just copy the XML address from the Google Calendar settings - and enter your username/password and youre up and running.

I now have all four of my google calendars in Thunderbird/Lightning and they all work like a charm.

I also have two shared calendars configured with Danish holidays and important soccer matches I absolutely must see :)

Now if someone could just make a "Provider for Exchange"... then I would no longer need to run Outlook or use the crappy outlook web access thingy.

I was looking for this possibility for months, browsing through hundreds of forum posts. Now it is finally possible to sync with google and thus make it possible to access the calendar from everywhere and having the comfort of a fat client at home.
Why "only" 9? I am still missing the offline functionality, but I was told this to be a bug of lightning.

I have been wanting something like this for a long time. I just tried using gcal***** intended to do the same as this, but Provider was much easier to set up and works flawlessly. I strongly recommend getting this if you are a fan of thunderbird and google calendar. I really like using google calendar, but now I think I will really take full advantage of it.

I registered just to post this. I've been waiting 2 years for this add-on and it works exactly as advertised. Thank you so much. I can finally use a desktop calendar client and still access GCal when away. Thank you!

This add-on is great, I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. However, it seems that Thunderbird doesn't save a local copy of the calendar or calendars every time it synchronizes, and so, if you are not connected to the Internet, this app is useless. Doesn't make much sense to assume that you are always going to be connected...
Anyway, thanks a whole lot for your work...

Exactly what I was looking for. A perfect compliment to Lightning! Thanks to the author and Google for making such useful tools. Karma!
