Performs very well his office. Unfortunately limited by the limited function of Google Task. I have a dream: Ligthning tasks with its many features, one can share and free!

I love this app, but when I switched what Google account I was using with it, the app didn't switch, and I'm not sure how to tell it that I switched the account!
I'd love a contact address for this kind of trouble shooting, because I'm sure it's something stupid that I've just forgotten!
Give me a break. You could have found the solution by just scrolling down the first page of reviews or looking around in Thunderbird for a bit.
To switch accounts, go to the add-on's options under Tools -> Add-ons and clear local data and authentication tokens.

It's the best add-on available to sync tasks with Google.
Some suggestions:
1) Add sort by name
2) Adding the task with Enter key in the "New Task" window
3) Canceling the task with Escape key in the "New Task" window
4) Add "Sync Interval", E.g. sync with Google every 5 minutes or every 3 minutes

I've only just installed it but at least it works straight away with a minimum of set up.
I'm using it with TB 38.5.1 and integrated Lightning 4.0.5.1
It would be nice to be able to change the default task list which is not the one I mainly use.
Other than that it works nicely and simply. Integrates in layout and syncs.

I am not yet ready to do a full review, as I just started using the add-on. It does seem to be working well, but two things prevent me from going further.
First, the link to documentation still points to a Google Code site. I believe Google has discontinued this service, or perhaps restricts access. Either way, I cannot read the documentation and suggest moving it to a more public place.
Second, I have two Google calendars with names that start with "Personal." "Personal - Long Term" has birthdays, anniversaries, dates for memorials for dead friends & relatives, etc. "Personal - Short Term" has doctor appointments, scheduled car services, meetings with friends, parties, etc. But the drop-down menu in the add-on only shows one choice, "Personal." Since the calendar names are legal for Google Calendar, this seems to be a bug that should be fixed.
I'd also like to be able to specify a time for a task. (E.g., to make a phone call at 11 AM.)
P.S. I would have written to the developer directly, but I cannot find an email address.
P.P.S. Regarding XtremeVision's comment about auto-sync and Tomasz's reply, I suggest always syncing when a new task is added and graying out the sync icon until the user changes a task's content. (E.g., the way LibreOffice grays out the save button after a file has been saved.) Since this is a two-way sync, there might also be an option to activate the icon/button at specific intervals.
The Google Code site never hosted any documentation, just the source code (which is available right here on the Mozilla add-ons site) and an issue tracker, which mostly fell into disuse long before Google Code was shut down, as I stopped actively maintaining the add-on. For the record, I am unaware of any forks, and no-one ever expressed interest in taking over the original project either, so any updates or bug fixes are unlikely.

Very good so far. Could prove exactly what I need since I have a home pc, laptop and office pc and all of them I have thunderbird, so I need my tasks synced across all devices.
The only thing I don't see is an auto-sync feature. I created a few tasks on the laptop, but they were not synced on my office pc, until I manually pressed the sync button. Would be nice to have auto-sync every couple of seconds.
Well done.
Auto-sync at intervals was removed a long time ago and isn't coming back because it consumed copious amounts of API quota.

Great add-on, I use it a lot - Thank you very much for this helpful tool!
Still there might be a little bug with the backups: I like the idea that it is backing up my task list to prevent the accidental deleting of tasks. But at the moment for me the backup viewer is not working. I can find the backups manually under “AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\XXX.default\google_tasks_sync\backup” but then in the “Backup viewer” I can only see the “Snapshots” but there is nothing to select under “Tasklist or Task”. I experience this problem on two different laptops with different configurations. Maybe this issue could be fixed in the next release?
Thanks again for this great add-on!

One of my most used and beloved add-ons for Thunderbird. .
Convenient to have at hand for shoppinglists, adding a quick note/post of "must-not-forget-that-item" etc. That way my grocery- and shoppinglists fills up pretty quickly and always stay in sync with my mobile unit (I use "Things To Do" from MoaiApps for Android). Syncs back and forth, lists always updated and handy everywhere, even in Thunderbird thanks to "Google Task Sync".
The developer has done a great job, works flawlessly! Thanks very much, couldn't live without it. I never forget anything at the grocery store nowadays.

Hi. Great Plug-In. I was able to easily install it and start using it right away. The only thing I am not understanding is how can you show mutliple taks from multiple accounts. For example, if I have 2 gmail accounts and have tasks in both of them then how do I add the second gmail account tasks?
Thanks,
AJ

This is a very nice AddOn for TB but I have a problem with the synconisation. When I logged into my google tasks account for the first time, the AddOn works fine. But when I restart TB there is a problem with the syncronisation and the interface shows the following message: "Initializing...". So the AddOn isn´t useful for me at the moment.

The addon works just fine. It is perfect !
The only request is when you have multiple lists, it could be a great idea to have a generic "all" list in order to be able to see all the tasks of all lists (usefull to see which tasks have to be completed thrue the day).
Nice work

I installed this and it appears to work fine with the latest version of Thunderbird.

Would be a 5-star add-on if it allowed users to create folders, too.

Same problem.
When I updated Thunderbird to 31.2.0, it stopped working.

This is a great addon and I use it a lot - or I did. When Thunderbird updated to 31.2.0 it promptly stopped working and it keeps giving errors.

Hello,
nice app, but a major problem during my tests :
if I am offline on thunderbird and I add a task, and if during that time, I add another task directly from thunderbird, he make a merge of the two, and not two separate tasks. ==> we cannot work with two device at the same time if they are not syncing directly...

Tomasz,
thanks so much for adding Google Tasks functionality to Thunderbird! I'm using the add-on on a daily basis and find it very easy to use.
I've been wondering about one issue: Is there a way to rearrange not the tasks, but the order of the lists in the pull-down menu? I group similar lists in Google Tasks alphabetically, but Tasks Sync goes by date of creation.

OK, but once you have connected to one google account - forget ever trying to change accounts. Even clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling will not work. Totally unusable for me now as I set it up initially on the wrong google account. Shame.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.1).Go to the add-on's options and check "Clear local data and authentication tokens", then restart Thunderbird. This will allow you to log in to a different account.

Very Nice,
have the possibility of adding a task priority function and not the date.

This plugin is great!
There is some interest and forecast support for multiple accounts?
This was a much-requested feature, but I won't implement it because I'm no longer actively developing the add-on.
