First, Manually sort folders is awesome, work(ed) great and is critically needed. Thanks for this great addon!
2nd, currently, this addon is not working on TB115 because of continuing changes to Thunderbird. TB 115 added some account sorting, but not folder sorting.
3rd, they are discussing this issue on this addon's github page:
https://github.com/protz/Manually-Sort-Folders/issues/199
4th, if you support this incredible addon, I would suggest paying attention and be ready to participate in a campaign to convince Mozilla to support the Manually Sort Folders developers IF/WHEN they ask for it. Mozilla does listen...

I tried and tried to sort my folders, but T-bird insisted on returning to an alphabetical order. It took me awhile to realize that this wonderful add-on isn't compatible with the new Supernova version!! Yikes!! Please update this great little tool, it's really spoiled me. Thanks ahead of time.

for thunderbird > 103.* please do following:
1.) download the current latest version (2.3.0) here from ATN and open the .xpi with e.g. winzip or similar packing tool
2.) open with any editior the manifest.json file in root folder and replace the "strict_max_version" value from 103.0 and set them to e.g. 120.0 and save this changes and update the xpi too! Then close the xpi and install it manually - then this addon is active again but if all features work, I didn't now at this time. Think we must wait, if the authors update this addon.

Needs to be updated so Thunderbird 115.2.0 can use it.

On TB 115 you can use the beta 3.2 from the github page (see: github.com/protz/Manually-Sort-Folders/issues/199). Thank a lot for the Add-On, I use it since some 10 years :)

Also, I hope it works with Thunderbird v115.

I don't understand how to sort now with "edit", Edit what? Edit where? Thanks.

This add-on is not necessary anymore because with Thunderbird 115 you can easily move/sort your folders.
Edit:
Reordering the folders or accounts
from
example_C@example.com
example_A@example.com
example_B@example.com
to
example_A@example.com
example_B@example.com
example_C@example.com
Do you mean accounts rather than folders? Then it's possible from Thunderbird 91.
Unfortunately, 115 still cannot move/sort folders.
Edit:
Okay. You mean about accounts, not folders.
