Love this addon but is anyone having the same problem?
When I enable it, the folder is hidden, but when I close then open TB, the local folders are back again. The only way to hide them again is delete the addon, re-add it then the cycle happens again.

Works great with YEC's hack.
It seems strange that this functionality isn't in ThunderBird in the first place.

Great extension, but doesn't work with Windows 7 pro and Thunderbird version 52. Please update.

Used after importing Windows mail data from Vista to T-bird on Windows 10. Lovely solution to tidy up the view. Thanks for making this app!

Served me well for a long time. But now I need to get my Local Folders back (I only need a new empty local folder to sort certain messages) – how can I accomplish that?

Good extension. This extension is usefull for Thunderbird users that do not known how to use locale folder or do not want to use local folders.
Carefull that if you had renamed the "Local Folders" account name to something else you need to rename the account name back to "Local Folders" and then restart thunderbird to hide the account in the folder list.

It works great on Arch Linux with latest kernel, latest Thunderbird. For those of you that say you don't need this, Not everyone wants to hack their Thunderbird. I wish more plugins just plain friggin worked.

It does exactly what it says on the tin. Thanks!
The comment here calling it unnecessary is incorrect. As it says in the description, it simply hides the entries in the folder pane. It definitely works fine on Linux now too, as that's where I'm using it.

To go: Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings > Under Message Storage, go to Advanced > Inbox for a different account > Choose "Local Folders".
Now set up a mail rule Under: Tools > Message Filters to move the messages into a folder of your choice.
