While I have to say that this is an awesome plugin and give it 5 stars it unfortunately seems to not be able to accomplish what I actually want. Not the fault of the plugin at all. But maybe this could be added:
I don't actually want to replace the notification popup or the sound and would rather be able to deactivate that functionality of the plugin. All I want is to silence mails on filter conditions - mainly after moving them to subfolders by said filters. Nothing more.

The add-on is great, but it would be perfect if we would be allowed to set alarms to specific addresses and not only folders.
I'd like to have a different alarm for different senders in the same folder. Could it be done? Thanks!

Have found this add-on very useful in combination with message filtering to execute a script when an email of interest is received. Was looking to access the subject and body of a received email. %subject worked for the subject and discovered &msg_preview in an earlier review. It works when clicking on ‘Test these settings’ icon
“This is a test message body. There is not much to see here. Though one might notice the text being wrapped, while the original text is one line.
Your friendly neighborhood Extension Developer.”
But unfortunately not when an actual received email was tested. The parameter was empty in this case. If this was possible it would make for a very useful feature. It would allow a command file to take different actions dependent on the content of an email.

To the developer:
Hey man, great addon.
I'd like you to take a look at this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=627333
And check if it is possible to fix it within your addon.
It's really annoying to get only 1 sound alert on the first message, and if we leave it unread --- no more sound notifications on new mail -- so annoying.
If this is fixable within your addon - you can make it configurable so users can choose whether or not to use the feature.
Regards,
D

This is a great add-on; I find it essential for keeping track of high-priority messages.

This add-on does what it is intended to.
However, it does not correctly display characters out of ASCII set. For example, instead of "Domyślny dźwięk" (Default sound) I see sth like "Domy[lny D[]wiek".
Other than that it is ok.

Funziona molto bene anche con la versione 78.4.1. Grazie per questo aggiornamento.

It's a very versatile addon. I use it together with filters to notify me about emails from particular senders, notify about emails that are not spam and therefore merit some attention and other emails.
It was a pleasant surprise to see that it has been updated.

Thanks for the really quick update. It makes it obvious when I get mail from people I really need to know about right away. I've used it for a long time and am glad it now works again.

Good Plugin - I have not figured out how to have ONLY the filter triggering a sound. Seems like the plugin fires with any message coming in and the filter additionally if the conditions are met. But I only want the filter to trigger the sound. If I disable sounds from the plugin the filter is off as well. Any idea?

Bug in Filtering rule seems not yet fixed in v 0.24. I am using thunderbird 68.4 and the field on the right hand side is still blank.

It says it works with Message Filters, but when i choose the 'Mailbox Alert', it is BLANK on the right side, so you cannot choose the alert.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.23.1).Yeah, that was (I hope) the last thing that broke with the big Thunderbird changes, and the hardest one to get working again. I finally found a way to fix it, and it should now work with version 0.24.

Great add-on. It's exactly what I need.
Problem is, it keeps throwing up errors.
I'm using TB 68.3.1. Not sure if that's the problem?

I really like your addon.
It would be nice if you add an option(tick box) to message to use system message instead of custom window, or at least add a hint for creating "Execute command" that does this. like:
/usr/bin/notify-send -u normal -i /usr/lib/thunderbird/chrome/icons/default/default16.png "Unread mail: %count" "%sendername : %subject

Thank you - exactly what I've been looking for for a long time. Would like to see it in the standard product! :-)
