Im still testing this addon and I have a question: Does this add-on to protect me from trojans and viruses that steal passwords from the Firefox profile or from the Firefox directory on HDD?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.15.4.1-signed).No, it doesn't. However if you set strong enough master password, then even if someone steals your profile, without that password they wont be able see or even use stored passwords and other encrypted data.

Incredible!
Very well thought - almost every detail of it.
The only flaw so far is that it doesn't detect plug-in activity - ergo, it auto-locks and/or auto-logs out after the set amount of time even though you're watching a video / playing a flash game / whatever.
Other than that - it's very useful for example, if you want to protect the information in your browser while you are at work and you can't be on your computer all the time.
All in all - fantastic add-on!
It's a known Firefox issue (or you may call it a bug even).
My understanding is that Flash is a external application that doesn't share user's input events with Firefox.

不能解锁!输入密码后仍然是锁定状态!

Very usefull addon, but there's one problem with auto-lock (and also auto-logout probably) - when I'm playing flash game or watching flash video, MP+ doesn't indicate activity -> It locks automatically after set up delay
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.15.1.1-signed).That is limitation of Firefox + Flash. Flash is external application running inside Firefox. Nothing can be done about it.

This is amazing, thank you very much for fixing and improving the Master Password feature by such a great margin! Such a shame that Mozilla couldn't be bothered to fix the pointless Master Password for Fx4, but this addon is so awesome....exactly what I need.

Great Add-on! I wish it would work better with Thunderbird. When it locks Thunderbird 3.1.9, there is no way to unlock it. When you enter the password, it just asks it again. The only way to solve this is to restart Thunderbird.
The automatic lock and logout countdowns don't seem to be working quite right either.
With Firefox 4, everything works great.

Bardzo przydatne, szczególnie gdy kilka osób korzysta z komputera. Umożliwia zablokowanie firefox na hasło, nikt nie uruchomi przeglądarki bez znajomości hasła.

Overall a great addon. I use it at work to keep people from being places they shouldn't. I knock 1 star from it because every other day or so it will seem to forget what the MP is and ask for a new one to be created at start-up. This is an issue because it could allow some people a chance to change the MP and gain access to the places that they shouldn't be. Maybe I'm missing something in the settings, but I haven't run across anything dealing with a password reset/expire.
*I'm curious to figure out why it asks for a new MP to be entered every morning when I start up FF.*
Neither this addon, nor Firefox/Thunderbird itself has ability "forget" master password without user's interaction. The password itself not being stored on the computer, because of that the only way to remove it (at least known to me) is either using MP remove feature, which asks for MP or delete whole profile

I LOVE this addon, but it's still not quite there yet. Just a few tweaks and it would be sublime.
First, is there a combination of settings to only ask for your master password on startup and then never again until you re-lock it manually or close and start Firefox again? As it is, I have to enter it twice every time. This I think is the use that most people who download this addon are wishing.
Once the "Don't display this... for _ hours" check mark is checked, it would be nice if that stayed checked for the next time, but it wouldn't matter if the above was possible.
Also, I think the default behavior should be: disable auto-everything, block duplicate prompts, ask for pass on startup, if cancel exit, just show in status bar. Can't wait for Firefox Sync for Addons.
Simple disable auto-logout/lock and activate startup prompt (make sure you uncheck "auto-logout" at startup too) it should do exactly as you wanted.
I might consider automatically check "Don't display this for..." checkbox if it was previously checked and expired without user's interaction.
About default settings, you are correct, will change some in next version. I didn't quiet think about that much after first release, especially that the original and the only feature this addon had on first release was single "auto-logout", later on it grew into what it is now.

Hy! This is awsome addon! I really enjoy using it!I have an idea how to make it better!
U could add LOCK WINDOWS/TABS on Firefox startup! So, when Firefox startups, then 1st what U could do is enter a Master Pass to unlock D Firefox to show it all Ur bookmarks, location bar etc.
This would be a nice option
.Thank U on Ur time & reading this. Enjoy!
[EDIT]: I have send U an email with pictures - hope you will get it & understand! :)
THX!
That feature is already present (since v1.2). You can activate it via Master Password+ Options -> Startup[EDIT]What if there was an option chose between quit or lock if user canceled MP on startup, will that be what you were looking for?
[EDIT]
Now I see absolutely no difference between what you are requesting versus what already exists. Right now in order to start browsing & surf the net, use bookmarks, etc user must enter the password, if pass is good, browser opens everything working, if pass is wrong, user has option to try again or click cancel to quit...I just don't see how is that any different from your idea.

This addon is the reason why I'm using Thunderbird again... and this comment is the reason why I opened account on this site.
Great!

Thank you, awesome extension. You really add some good value with each new version, I can see that you want to make the UI as simple and productive as possible. I especially like the use of the top dropdown notification bar for showing blocked Master Password queries - very easy on the eye and simple to use.
Keep up the good work, and keep simplifying !

Thanks for sharing the extension!I can't figure out how to set that the https://addons.mozilla.org/img/uploads/previews/full/51/51931.png?modified=1295930240 prompt appears all the time and not the default FF prompt (that is without the question regarding the time for the next prompt).
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.11.20110123).The additional options shows only when prompt was invoked without user interaction (for example when opened a web page and browser need access to login information. I think I'll change that behavior in next version). When such prompt showed and user checked "don't show this..." any further non-user invoked prompts will be blocked until time expired. If during that time user clicked on MP+ icon or opened MP+ options, that temporary suppression will be canceled.

About solving Bug 536140: Woks fine with internal Firefox security module master password - but then there are some external tokens, such as Aladdin eToken, it's not a solution. I think it will good behaviour to ask password for every security token used and configured for password promt on startup.

I have used Password Agent by Moon Software in Windows for many years, and it's perfect. When I changed over to Linux, I'm finding nothing that will compare to it. If this software had an auto-fill key combination it would be much better.
I have tried Keepassx, Kdewallet,Gpass,Password Gorillla, roboform and every other program I can locate with a search engine.
Last Pass and Security Suite seem to be the only thing close to Password Agent, but I'm not totally convinced they are completely secure and the Auto-fill features Do Not work on many secure banking sites that might require a 2 page log-in with user name or ID on the first & Password on the second. You also send your encrypted info onto one of their servers instead of keeping everything on your own computer. I like Master Password+ but it still doesn't fit my security needs. I can see that you have put a lot of work & thought into this program. I would gladly purchase any program that works as well as Password Agent. I hope you can do more with this program. If it fits my needs I will give a generous donation.
It's clear that you misunderstood the purpose of this extension, which technically does the exact opposite of what you were looking for...perhaps iMacros would fit your needs better. Good luck.

Hello, This add-on is Excellent and does a good work. Maybe if it's possible, the funtion ''Lock" should have a Configurable Hot-key.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.9.20110108).User selected hotkeys were in my to-do list since first version.... It's just little more complicated that I'd like it to be..
[EDIT] available since v1.11

This add-on does everything I want it to except for one thing; namely, it doesn't allow me to keep saved tabs from my last session. Addressing this issue would be great. Thanks!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.9.20110108).In my tests it's working fine using built-in session manager and extension "session manager".
