Worked great with 3.0.8. Thanks a lot Justin!
I wish Firefox made it so the passwords saved by the browser were more secure than just a click away to see all of your passwords.
Maybe a password for the passwords?

Good/friendly/easy to use add-on that I cannot fault :D
One oddity thou, if I make a backup of my profile with mozbackup or physically copy my profile to another profile then Password Exported always needs to be updated. Quite odd but not the end of the world:D
A clean well polished app.
well worth 5 stars

Nice little tool for when you get a new PC and want to export the saved passwords on your old PC to the new one.

this is awesome! If I have physical access to your computer I can use this to export all the passwords stored in Firefox in a plain-text format. I don't even need to know your master password!

I really wanted to like this--it's well-integrated and thought-out. HOWEVER, any exporter that won't *import* can't be trusted. I save 408 passwords using the tool...then tried to import. It repeatedly failed after between 100-300 passwords. I had to remove it.

I was just about to take numerous screenshots of saved passwords (you know how you can only see 10 at a time?) when I had one of those rare lightbulb moments and decided to google for a tool. So here I am. Within minutes I'd installed and exported all my passwords and saved that file in a safe location. Many thanks!

The idea is great, after system fault or a new PC just easy restore of the passwords. But at the moment it no longers works with my htaccess logins. So they are all lost now :(.

I made a fix for this (at least on Firefox 3) here:

It's nolonger support. It can not import the CVS files have over 150 fields. Another security problem is: "The password is decrypted easily!". So be care about this.
But i thinks it a useful add-on!

Dude, I'm screwed. Exported my passwords. Now can not import them. - XML error on FF3.
Do you work on updating your add-on as often as you post articles on your blog?
I see I'm not alone here.

This is a really cool addon, save me a lost of time copying the ID/PW fro another computer.
BUT, in my impression, both import and export is on the menu tab, anybody who knows the trick might steal your ID/password in just a click away, slight chance ruin the password database in importing a set of (fake) password.
So, my suggestion is: when exporting password, or even installing this addon, a password verification is mandatory.
How's this idea?

Must have tool for taking password backups of your firefox. When I did an export, I realized the number of passwords I had created over time and used FF to just save. I dint remember half of them after saving them.

I just copied these files from my old firefox profile folder to my new firefox profile folder
signons.txt (all files - sometimes there are numbered versions)
key3.db
That brought over all of my passwords and I didn't have to trust a software plugin not to do anything nefarious with my passwords while it was exporting them.
Hope this helps!
