Great add-on. ** Suggestion ** give option to select the address book instead of the default Personal Address Book.

I've just created an account on this site purely to say that I downloaded this add-on and I've gone from 38 Google contacts to 27. This does not work.

Does not sync correctly any more (TB 3.1.2 / Zindus 0.8.24).
Creates duplicates and does not keep mail-addresses equal in TB and Google Mail (e. g. randomly deletes different contacts on both sides etc....)

Does not import addresses so not useful to me. Also leaves out many other fields. It does have a way to do addresses, but the method adds xml code to your google contats--who wants that?
Uninstalled and I'm now using "google contacts" which works much better.

this one works almost fine; but after trying it for about 2 months, it keeps messing up contacts. Duplicates, deletes and changes contacts and contact's info. Needs more tunning before suggesting serious usage.

Отличное дополнение! Синхронизирует личную адресную книгу Thunderbird и контакты Google.
Единственное чего не хватает, это лога (хотелось бы знать какие контакты были синхронизированы). И еще не понятно что означает буква "Y" возле иконки Zindus в строке состояния.

Nice add-on if it would work. Unfortunately, it completely messes up my contacts. Swapping names, email-addresses etc. between contacts which is just exactly the opposite of a good sync.

Tried the google contacts addon but this seems to work better. Plus I like the fact that I can manually sync the contacts (which I can't find how to do on "google contacts")

Zindus 0.8.23/4 DOES NOT work well with large contact lists when syncing with Thunderbird 3.1.1 . The only way I have found to insure the integrity of the contact lists is to create and edit the contacts on GOOGLE, and then use Zindus to sync with Thunderbird. Zindus is going to make a mess of the list, so to keep everything clean, and in alphabetical order copy the name field in Google to the Company field in Google. When you are ready to sync delete ALL contacts in Thunderbird, delete all Zindus address books in Thunderbird, RESET Zindus, then hit the sync button. You will end up with a contact list that is the same as in Google, and will be in alphabetical order by the users name. If you don't, you will end up with company, email addresses, whatever, as the name in Thunderbird, and the fields may be from another contact.

The Bad News: I have found that new entered into TB (3.0.4) are not updated to gmail, though the reverse flow works well...
The Good News: the above version of Zindus 0.8.13 is not the most current. The most current 0.8.23 seems to be far more stable. It can be downloaded here: http://www.zindus.com/download-extension/

Works 100%, quickly, quietly, and hassle-free. Using this with Thunderbird 3.0.5 on Linux Mint 9 x64 and a Google Apps Standard account. Syncs perfectly both ways.

This is a masterpiece, works flawlessly, and allows me to sync my address book across all of my Thunderbird setups.

Appreciate all the work. Seems to sync my contacts very nicely. It transferred over all my groups also.
Kudos!

Tip: I didn't need to, but it is always a good idea to back up your address book.

First day with Zindus... seems OK, but could use:
1. a push-all capability: "replace remote with local" and "replace local with remote" is a common requirement for first-time set-ups. Spent a lot of time removing duplicate contacts as a result.
2. support for contact photos/thumbnails would be nice. (I'm using a Gmail ActiveSync account to get this working on my iPhone/Pod/Pad, but thumbs are accessible through the Google Contacts API.)

Leni worked with me via 8 emails over the course of a week with multiple log files, etc. and resolved the issue I was having. I've been a huge fan of this plugin since I've started using it. It does an incredible job at keeping our TB3 contacts in multiple accounts sync'd up with GMail, so I know whenever I go into GMail and vice versa in Thunderbird, my contacts will all be up-to-date. Awesome, Leni! I would pay for this plugin!!

Using this resulted in the loss of many Google contacts. All of my Google contacts appeared in Thunderbird, but many of my contacts mysteriously disappeared on Google.
