Gracias!!

I've long dreamed about being able to take an email and turn it into a task just by dragging and dropping, and this lets me do just that! It also has a thoughtful visual interface that shows you which mails are linked to which tasks, and vice versa. All in all, very convenient and well thought out!
Just a couple of things need work: the link between a task and an email gets broken when I move or archive the email on an IMAP server. Parts of the interface are clunky, such as moving from a mail to a task or vice versa, and the English manual is confusing and needs editing. But I'm sure this will improve with time, and it will only make a great extension even better. I'm already an addict!

Been looking for something like this for quite sometime. Now with Google calendar and your to do manager, everything can be found in one place... !!!
Can I ask if it would be too difficult to add recurring tasks?

I have never been so grateful for an add-on to any application I use!! This solves so many problems for me. So often emails an tasks are intertwined with each other. I can now dump the elaborate "take action", "follow up" etc tag system i've been using for years. The feature set is sooo well thought out, the manual is great, the video demo is an extra bonus. KUDOS!!!!
I have only one complaint -- where is your Donate button? :-)
Thank you very much !
Your review is a very nice retribution. I confess that I have hesitate to ask for a contribution but your encouragement have decided me.

Very nice add-on, thank you!!!
I have two feature requests, though:
1. It would be perfect if the linked messages are displayed right away, when I click the message title in the "tasks&mails" panel. Generally, that's the first thing you want see: Which messages are linked to this task.
2. It would be nice if the filter "show only messages with tasks" wouldn't display tasks, which are done already. If you are working with the add-on for a while, you have hundreds of tasks done, but you don't want to see them when you want to have a overview what's still to do.
It also would be nice to have a German translation. I could offer to translate it..
Thank you !
I was looking for a volonteer that would want to make the german translation, I think I have found him :-) Give me an email and I send you the files.
I take note of your suggestions. For the first one, I think you have to activate the filter "show only linked messages" and the filter "show only linked message to selected task". Then, when you will click on a title, you will see only the right messages. I can make these filters persitants if needed.

Its an amazing tool. I have been searching for while for such one tool to organize my mails, and here is the solution.
It would be of another advantage, if we have the multi-column sorting, i.e. I should be able to sort my columns both by 'Priority' and 'Due Date'. In this way, I would be able to see important and due right for today mails at the top.

Hi!
Very useful Add-On !) :(and something very missing from Lightning task management.
It may be worth to integrate with Lightning task handling. I mean, at least picking up the tasks list have already set in Lightning and giving check boxes which ones to import in. (Task & Mails Menu\Import Lightning tasks)
Thanks for your consideration improving your excellent add-on!

Tasks & Mails it is amazing add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird.
Basic idea is simple and very effective. You can connect your task to email folder(s) or even with individual email messages.
I tried different task management programs like Outlook, Google Calendar Tasks and task in my Nokia. Overall the most effective way for me was to manage my tasks partially by Excel and manually on paper.
I use 3 different email addresses simultaneously in Thunderbird. Next step was lightning add-on
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/lightning/
and synhronisatio with Google Calendar:

Overall with use of Tasks & Mails add-on is for me great tool for better efficiency
Thank you very much to Gilles Orsini from France for her development Please keeps going to develop.
Thanks,

Experimenting and very good concept BUT seems 'focus'when entering text is not limited to "Tasks and Mail" e.g. When using 'Nostalagy' (another VERY good add-on!) with default short cuts if 's' part of text then Nostalgy kicks in and not possible to capture required text. Work around has been to change 'defaults' of Nostalgy (i.e. now ctr - s) but not ideal. Am looking to enhance my GTD centric TB config using "Tasks & Mails" add-on and looking forward to next version! I concure with other feedback re need for more flexibility re placement of pane and other comments. Keep up the good work. BIG smiles from sunny South Africa :-)

This is a really nice addon. I still would like to see a few more features to get to five stars:
1) please provide feature to open "tasks and mails" in a separate tab, so it doesn't take up space for email info (or place it in the sidebar under the folders)
2) I would like to add, remove and resize columns
3) a "completed" field with auto date stamp would be very nice.
I hope you continue to develop this wonderful addon...

I was looking for something like this plugin. Just a few remarks:
1> is it possible to integrate with the classical system of tasks in thunderbird ?
2> I think the task window would be better if it replaces the folders window (at the left): we will have a task oriented view instead of a folder oriented view
3> is there a repository with the sources ?
4> is it possible to add tag at each task (personal, work, etc...) , for instance using the tag system for messages ? More generally, a system compatible with tag and task systems in thundebird will be the killer app I was looking for...
Thanks

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.22).Hi,
You are not the first person to make this critique but I can't understand what is exactly the problem.
I have made an English version and I tested it and I think that every things are OK.
Could you give me more details ? are you talking about UI, web site, documentation ? Which language are you using ?
May be you could send me a screenshot on my personal email address ?
Thanks you very much.
