Best download extension. It has almost all the features a download manager should have. But can't use it yet because it's missing the bandwidth speed limit ability. Please Add speed limit feature, if not able to limit every download individually, at least should be able to limit bandwidth speed for all downloads. And a button to toggle obeying the speed limit. Keep up the good work.

tip to speed up DTA type about:config in the addressbar then type extensions.dta.maxchunks in the filter and double click or enter and increase them depending on your connection for 256kbps i would advise to not exceed 1000(when i tried i DTA crashed).Secondly type extensions.dta.network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server in the filter and increase that to a similar num.Lastly type extensions.dta.ntask and make that the same also.Hope it helps

I love this add-on! I just wish it could download all images on a page, including CSS background images found in embedded and external style-sheets, as well as images defined by inline styles.

This addon breaks Firefox 3.6. When the addon is enabled it prevents a user from opening multiple Firefox windows. Disable the addon, multiple window function works properly. Other than that it works.

Just so handy...grab this now even if you don't think you need it, you never know when the need will occur. Simple intuitive interface and filtering mechanism - always works as advertised.

I've been using DownThemAll! for several years now as my primary means for direct downloads. There simply is not better download accelerator software to be found -much less in a simpler, more integrated package. Anyone considering any other solution should try out Firefox and DTA! first.

With that said, there are features I've craved since the start. For starters, why is this functionality not built in to the Firefox window? I appreciate an option to externalize my download manager, but by default one would expect it to be integral to the default browsing experience. Some kind of download toolbar functionality or even a side-bar docking option. Also, the software is in desperate need of a speed limiter. It should seem obvious to the developer that not all users require or even desire to constantly max out their internet speed to complete a download. On a large file when I'm away from home, of course. While I'm playing Xbox and watching Hulu? Not so much. It baffles me that essential functions, typically found in download accelerators, are missing. With software this popular, even a premium version at a cost would be better suited than a neglectful "well, it's free!" approach.

I've been using this addon for awhile and I love it, however lately it's been causing some lag while browsing, every time a new link starts to download I get a short 2 second freeze, I think this started after the last update. Also, when downloading with DTA my connection is totally throttled and browsing becomes very slow, a simple bandwidth limiter would be a great addition to a great addon.

This is great, but you seriously need to add a "Download Scheduler" and for god's sake...a "Bandwidth/Speed Limiter" by all costs....i mean...everytime i download something, every other internet-related stuff, simply "ceases to exist"...o_O.

That's right folks... This is a cream of the crop add-on here. It simply lets you download elements on a page... such as images, text, files.... etc. It has a nifty filter mechanism that lets you brainlessly filter content... or you can dive down and specify file types to download specifically.

Its pretty easy to use... has a nice simple interface. Its great...

...the only downside is you may not need to use it frequently. (but when you do, you'll be glad you found it!)

Very good addon, but as algotechie said, the latest version doesn't seem to break the download into so many pieces as it used to earlier. I had to increase the number of parts to 10 (its the max) and even like that it doesn't download as fast as it used to when i had it configured just to spilt in 6 parts. Please fix it as soon as possible, or i will have to change to another download manager. 4 stars only because of this problem. When this is fixed i'll give the deserved 5.

A little too complex, and it asks me every single time to choose where to download the files. I really wish it would just remember where to store the files.
