No funciona más con Thunderbird 78.11.0 (64 bits). No permite escribir eventos, ni sincronizar los creados.

Great add-in, and easy to use. I am using it both in Windows and Linux.

Recently, this add-on does not allow me to invite others to the event.

Was great but on 78.10.2 I cannot accept invitations in google events.
It says "No writable calendars..."
I checked mozilla support and one option calendar.google.enableEmailInvitations which is supposed to turn it on is not available in the .config

Great Addon. It worked perfectly but since last TB update I can't create, delete and update events in TB (Addon 78.0.1, TB 78.10.2 32-bit, Win 10 64-bit). Looking forward to a solution.

There is a solution: https://github.com/kewisch/gdata-provider/issues/77 Scroll down to July 25th 2020
In short words : use CalDav instead of the addon.
Make sure that you replace the @ in your email address with %40 in the CalDav-URL
AND make sure you allow Cookies in Thunderbird.
That worked for me, incl two-way-sync for the main google calendar. I removed the addon Provider for Google Calendar after doing these changes.
Some more details, if you have configured your Google calendar to show additional calendars (like bank holiday calendars etc.) or you need Google task integration: that worked for me as well, but only WITH Provider for Google Calender installed. When I had the addon still installed and at the same time configured CalDav for the same Google calendar, the provider-for-google-calendar-addon did come up with the standard login dialog, afterwards I could see the additional calendars in Thunderbird. The CalDav-integration without the provider-addon didn´t show the additional calendars. Maybe you want to do some more testing re CalDav PLUS provider-addon, but as I only needed the main calendar, I stopped after that worked and de-installed the provider-addon.

Like others, I'm disappointed to find that Google calendars aren't visible and I must manually hide/show each individual calendar to have them show up.

Hopefully this has been raised as a bug/issue and will be fixed in the next update.

Works great except one thing: When I start Thunderbirds, all my Google calenders are hidden. I have to hide/show them manually again to make them visible. Hopefully there will be fix for that soon.

Yesterday it worked perfectly today no google calendar is popping up. ;-(
Hopefully an update coming soon. Would also be great to have this add-on as a standard in TB. ^^

Looks like the TB update to 78.10.0 broke the add on again. Dialog to authenticate never populates.

Depuis l'installation de Thunderbird 78.9.1 (20210406220621) ce matin j'ai perdu mon agenda google et je n'arrive plus à le réinstaller. Cela marchait bien avec la version 78.9.O (20210322094744) installée le 15 mars

Worked fine until most recent TB update. Running TB 78.7.1 on Ubuntu 20.04. "No writable calendars. . ."

Makes this add-on completely useless.

Was working great until TB 78. I regret updating now. Now although still syncing cannot update from TB, warns no writeable calendars.

Addon is crashing tasks interface (freezing) when we try to create a task. If we remove the adon and try to create a task in my tasks the problem disappears.

The extension works well, allowing me to manage my multiple google calendars directly from Thunderbird. However there is a curious and annoying mistake. When I add a serial event to thunderbird (78.9.0, 32 bit - windows 7 and 10) with initial and final date, for instance for five working days, it ignores the final date and programmes the event forever. In this case I need to reopen all events and impose again the final date, but this is not always working, perhaps because thunderbird calendar remains stuck in setting too many dates in the future (forever). When it does not work, I have no other solution than edit the calendar in google and change the final date manually. A bit unconvenient. Please fix it. Thanks

After a couple of years of using a competing (Arch Linux) app I'm returning with a new (Windows) device and downloaded Thunderbird 78.9.0 complete with Lightning calendar integration. Blimey the Thunderbird Project has advanced so much. Exciting for all open source. This latest version of the add-on 'Provider for Google Calendar' has just blown me away. I used to spend hours getting this achieved and I genuinely can't believe how seemless getting it setup was. Outstanding work.

I suggest using CalDAV format to add Google Calendars to Thunderbird. No plugin is necessary. The Location (URL) should look something like this:
https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2/###/events
where ### is replaced by the Calendar ID (including @group.calendar.google.com or @gmail.com or similar).

This plugin has been buggy recently (as noted in other reviews) and it's not necessary, unless you want to import a task list from Google Calendar. CalDAV works much better.
