As an enhancement: it would be great to have the sender pop-up and the subject of the email. This is done with the Gmail notifier..... still works great....

Simple and effective (even without all the options with which it comes folded) this add-on is a must have for any Yahoo mail user.
The ability to glance discreetly at an icon to see if you've got incoming email(s) makes this a winner in my book.
It's so addictive, I rolled back Firefox to 3.0.1 so I could keep on using it (not yet compatible with 3.0.3) and disabled automatic updates so I wouldn't have to do that dance step again.
Yahoo Mail Notifier is definitely compatible with Firefox 3.0.3 so there is no reason to roll back to version 3.0.1. In fact I HIGHLY recommend that you don't do that since 3.0.1 has security flaws in it.
BTW the extension is also compatible with the latest Firefox 3.1 nightlies as well.

Version 15 deletes your Yahoo.com cookie which causes login/credential failure errors to be thrown. If you've got 3rd Party cookies disabled, you must re-add Yahoo.com to your list of exceptions. Then it works properly.
Deleting the cookie is a stupid thing to do. Developer dude, stop messing with stuff you shouldn't!
version 1.0.0.15 doesn't delete the Yahoo cookie, it deletes the third party exception that version 1.0.0.14 added since the exception is not required any more for the extension to work.
There is no reason to add yahoo.com to the list of exceptions any more.

Works Great. I Like that you can play a sound when you get a new message. Also it only plays a sound / notifies you when you get something in your inbox, not your spam folder. It tells you how many messages you have too and you can customize what it does when you click on it, double click on it and when you middle mouse click on it
Well Done!

Must have for Yahoo users.

Downloaded latest version 1.0.0.13 and it doesn't notify me of new mail. I even click on it to have it check and it says I have no new messages even though I do. Uninstalled it.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.0.13).The extension gets the "new" mail count from Yahoo. "New" mail is mail that has been received since last visiting the Yahoo Mail web page.
If it isn't working, then check http://www.yahoo.com when you think you have new mail. If that doesn't indicate you have new mail, then the extension won't either.
If you do have new mail and Yahoo says you don't, you'll need to contact Yahoo to have that fixed.

Version 1.0.0.10 does not log me in. It allows me to open up Yahoo mail by clicking, but the toolbar's envelope does not notify me of new emails.
Before I updated, this extension worked great. I had to downgrade to 1.0.0.9 for it to work properly again. Otherwise, great extension for Yahoo mail users.
1.0.0.10 is incompatible with the default settings in the NoScript addon. This will be corrected in 1.0.0.12 which is pending release (or you can get it on my home page). In the mean time you can add the XSS exception listed on the main page if you want to use 1.0.0.10.

Went to their main site and installed 1.0.0.12 and it works just like before. Best Yahoo mail extension.

Same problem with 1.0.0.10. Will not login, but will open Yahoo mail when you double click on the icon. Was working great before, so will rate as if it was 1.0.0.09. Returned to 1.0.0.09 and all is well/
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.0.10).So far everyone who has told me that 1.0.0.10 doesn't log in, had it start working by itself when I asked them for debugging data.
If you still can't log in, follow the steps at http://ymnotifier.mozdev.org/bugs.html and send me the debug data so I can figure out why.
