Great addon, just noticed the accesskey implementation great stuff. Now just the ability to change the icon would be great.

one menu to rule them all

Excellent addon. Frees up a lot of extra space in the top toolbar. It allows me to run FireFox with only one toolbar showing in the top. A must-have for me.

I always drag the icon to the sidebar and do not hide the menubar, but put the bookmarks on menubar and then hide the bookmarks toolbar. with the newest version, i find if i right click on my bookmarks, the menu options will appear again. now i use 2.1.0 and it is all right.

s this extension Mac compatible?
After installing this, Firefox3 crashed repeatedly on my iMac (OS10.4.11, G5). Firefox would require 2 restarts before it would run; and shortly would crash again. After uninstalling Compact Menu 2, Firefox operated normally.
1 star if Mac compatible. Otherwise, rating is N/A

Thanks for your hard work in order to simplify my life. This slims my browser tremendously and cleans up 'clutter' leaving much more room for what I want to put in that menu bar area, i.e. I moved the navigation bar up there.
Is it possible to change the orientation of the first drop down on the menu to horizontal? I did try posting that at your site, but am not sure if it worked since I only get a bunch of images.

Great !!! The charm point of this add is that I can move the compact menu to the status bar !! This is better than tiny menu at this point ! 10 of 10 !
Thanks and regard .

This neat add-on does what it says. It is easy to use and it saves space at the top of the page. Here is a tip for people with problem getting rid of the menu toolbar. Simple drag all your navigation buttons (back, forward, stop, etc.) to the menu toolbar and disable the navigation tool bar.

It works really good if I only could get rid of the empty Menu bar. I have looked in all the menus but it seems I just don't know how to do it. Any help is welcome.

First I hide the menubar. Compact Menu offers two additional buttons to toolbars: Bookmarks and Main Menu. By adding them to the navigation bar the menu bar isn't necessary I get more space. And the interface is less cluttered.

I love this extension, as it just works (tm). But I find it annoying that I can't turn off the hotkey-behaviour. I have set 'Alt' to be the accesskey for web pages and now, every time I want to save something in wikipedia (Alt-S), Compact Menu opens the history menu.
Please make this feature an option to be toggled via configuration. Thanks!

Great addon, although I don't like the default icon - it doesn't suggest 'menu'. It's also sized at 16px instead of 24px, as it should be.
I hacked it to use a different one. Replace the 'compact.jar' at extensions/{57068FBE-1506-42ee-AB02-BD183E7999E4}/chrome with http://www.mediafire.com/?nhdvrzyhwbh
P.S. It would be useful if the developer provided a means of contact.

Great idea (in particular on smaller screens), but beware: uninstall this before upgrading FireFox -- or your menu can disappear forever.
The TinyMenu extension offers similar functionality in a safer way.

Is there a way to make the word for menu white? So it is compatible with a black theme?

I tried to post this in the author's website, but it didn't work for some reason I have no idea of. I can't read his language.
Anyway, i found a problem with this extension when using a skinned firefox. I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.14 and the Noia (eXtreme) skin (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/72), and the button for the Compact Menu is being replaced by a custom icon from the Noia skinset.
The problem is that the icon disappears when hovered, because the skinset defines another icon for its identifier, and this other icon hasn't got the graphics for hovered and selected statutes.
I fixed this by modifying compact.css, and changing:
list-style-image: url(”chrome://compact/skin/blue.png”);
to
list-style-image: url(”chrome://compact/skin/blue.png”) !important;
This way the custom skin doesn’t changes the icon file.
I suppose one could also change the :hover and [open=”true”] properties to push the clip back into the right position, but I like the original icon.
I hope I made myself understood.
"Only" 4 out of 5 because of this minor bug, and the lack of a keyboard shortcut. This aside, just perfect. Kudos to you.
Keep up the good work,
Fabio.

Yet another request for Fx 3.0.* compatibility; I tried switching to Tiny Menu, but compared to Compact Menu 2, Tiny Menu is unusable. Please upgrade!
