It seems user twang817 fixed this by editing file gmServiceGmail.js.
See yourself:
https://github.com/twang817/firefox-gmail-manager-ng/commit/949259272590c0034f9268141eb4fed985051c4b
But he did not create a new release.
0.6.5.4 would be the new version I think.
Anyone up to it?

Not support for Firefox 27.0
Hope there will be a new update or replacement.

This is my replacement for Google's official Gmail Notifier, which will unfortunately be discontinued at the end of January 2014.

I've been using this addon since Todd Long stopped to develop the original and I can't live without it. However I recently had the need for custom toolbars and this addon creates conflict with that feature (toolbars disappear and won't show up and will work only when the addon is disabled). It would be great if the developper could take a look at it and fix whatever it making the custom toolbars behave that way with Gmail Manager NG activated.

And just now, miraculously, snippets are back on all my systems, without my changing anything. I wonder what Google is up to.

Getting a weird problem with GMail Manager NG where, even though I mark all messages unread, they still display as read. So even if I have no new messages in in my Gmail inbox, the extension will say I have "346 new messages" when it should be zero. The problem extends to every GMail account I have,

All credits goes to "beezilla" Thx to this advice i fixed this pesky problem.
Original text:
I guess the problem isn't the Gmail Manager but the Gmail itself. I had this same problem for the last several days (ver 0.6.4.1.6). One of my accounts didn't show snippets in my inbox and my Gmail Manager. I got my snippets back when I changed the Inbox type from "Default" to "Unread first" (https://mail.google.com/mail/#settings/inbox). Funny but this account doesn't like default type anymore.. and If I'm not mistaken, this issue started after Google introduced a new “Tabs” feature that automatically sorts incoming mail into configurable tab categories. A new function is inserted into default type.
Also, make sure you have the snippets enabled.
Gmail general settings:
https://mail.google.com/mail/#settings (scroll down) >> Snippets: Show snippets - Show snippets of the message (like Google web search!)
Gmail Manager:
Gmail Manager Options >> Accounts >> Modify >> Tooltip >> Show new mail snippets from the Inbox

The good news: This absolutely vital extension still works. The bad news: Snippets (the little pop-up boxes that show you who your new emails are from & their subject lines) that appear when you hover over the relevant account icons no longer work. I really love having snippets, since you can know at a glance whether or not it's necessary to actually log in and read/respond to your email, and I'd love to have them back.

I have used GMail Manager successfully for years but just recently an issue has cropped up...I have two Gmail accounts - one continues to work perfectly but for the other, I only intermittently (rarely!) see email 'snippets' when I mouse over the icon in the status bar. Shame as it's always been great before...this might be a GMail setting (used to be an issue with Buzz) or it might be an add-on issue...not sure...this occurs on Firefox 21.0...

I love this addon. Simple as it is, I have found no other like it, and the persistence of this particular issue makes me sad. This problem essentially makes the mod come with a huge compromise for me, which I am unwilling to accept. Here's the problem: every time I shut down Firefox while this mod is enabled, my localstore.rdf file gets corrupted.
If it helps the dev, I have this mod set up with about 4 email accounts, each with a separate UI mod manually placed on the menu bar (location specified). I don't know if moving them would fix the issue. I'm not willing to move them.

Used to work fine before installing FF19 (and now, 20.0.1), but as a few other reviewers have mentioned, it's now broken when using privacy mode. Doesn't look like it's been updated for a while, so I may have to look elsewhere...

Just a simple thank you buddy for picking up where original program writer left off. It's the best, simplest and easy to use Gmail notifier.
(I keep it on the bottom status bar)

Finally I find someone keeping this extension up to date!
Just tried it and it seems to work ok.
Many thanks! Keep up the good work.

I'm impressed. All the little details are included such as mailto: protocol only linking to one account, and allowing you to set some accounts to notify and others not to. It even has an option to disable the context menu options for less clutter.
Took me a while to figure out how to get automatic logins to work. I had "Clear History" turned on and inside I had "Saved passwords" checked. Untick that and you don't even need Firefox to remember your passwords. It will remember you without that option (clearing Cookies and Active logins is OK too.)

I just upgraded to Firefox 19. In privacy mode, the plugin doesn't work. When I click on the plugin icon, it opens a google page in a new tab and says that I need to enable cookies (this is a google message).
Any thoughts on a fix for privacy mode?

First, works simple great.
I use it with CookieSwap to auto-login on various Gmail accounts in seconds :)
The fact that it doesn't work with Google's 2-step authentication makes trouble. Please can we test and help?
