I have many custom searches added to the upper right search field. I was looking for an addon that gives me easy access to Google Maps via right-click on selected address text. But now it turns out to be totally annoying. When I right-click and select GDirections, a gigantically long list with all my custom searches pops up. This renders the addon to be NOT handy at all. I suggest to add the option to choose in preferences whether to include those searches or not, or even better let select which ones should appear and which should not.

I only see this going to Google mapping and I was specifically looking for Yahoo mapping. If I'm missing something, I'm sorry.

This is a very useful extension, thank you. Have not had any problems with it since I discovered it, which is version 3.1.3

I have been u sing this for a long time, and it is extremely handy, so first, thanks Jeff for providing it...
With the recent 3.1.3 release, GDirections finally works with TBird again! Very cool, thanks Jeff!
Now there is just the one minor UI bug (see below), but other than that, gdirections now works as advertised.
UI bug: tabbing from very first 'Text' field doesn't take you to the next field, it takes you to the Location field at the bottom.
Ok, now I give it 5 stars... :)

It would seem that choosing NL as country in the options causes GDirection to look for the website google.com.nl instead of maps.google.nl. Could you fix this? Thanks. Otherwise an excellent add-on.

Works decent but could use a tuneup.
Give us an option to remove the search bar's sites from the context menu—if you have a super long list, it's terrible. Also, an option to specify where the results open (same/new tab/window) would be nice.
The addresses in the context menu could be cleaned up a bit... maybe just show labels?

I love this add-on!
I cannot wait until a FF3 compatible version is released.

It does work in FF3.
-Download the xpi to your HD
-Open with winrar (xpi is just a zip file)
-Extract install.rdf to desktop
-Edit install.rdf: look for 2.0.0.* and change it to 3.0.0.*
-Delete instal.rdf in the xpi from winrar
-Drag the install.rdf you edited back in the xpi
-Open the Add-Ons window in FF and drag the xpi into it
-Viola!

A very useful add-on. Can't wait for the FF3 version though.

In my limited usage so far, it does its job effortlessly. It's the perfect little utility. I also like that it stores my preset addresses locally instead of relying on Google/Yahoo/etc. logons.

This is an easy, fast way to pull up a Google (or Yahoo, if you like) map with directions to several preset addresses. I've found it very useful--thanks!
To suel regarding using GD Directions, you need to go into the Firefox Tools menu (at the top of the browser) and go to Add-ons. Then make sure you are in Plug-ins (not Themes) and you should find GD Directions. Select it and you should see an Options button. This opens a window to set the addresses and text--it has a Help button to walk you through this step. Or, if you want to uninstall, click that instead of Options.

This is a great idea that appears to work for some. I live in New Zealand. When I perform a query the resulting URL reads - http://maps.google.nz/maps?saddr=56A Kelwyn Road, Kelston&daddr=United+States where it should have a .co after the .nz . Seems like a small thing to correct.

Not everyone is happy! I downloaded this extension. I expected it to show up somewhere obvious (I'm not real computer saavy). Eventually I right clicked on a page and found "GDirections" on a little menu. When I ran my mouse over "GDirections" an empty little box appeared. When I moved my curser into the box, little blue lines appeared and when I clicked on them, a random new tab appeared.
So...I can't really use "GDirections", and I can't get the blasted thing off my "options?" menu.
Can anybody help me with this?

This is what I was looking for. It allows to place the start address, and to choose your country (I live in Italy, the others seem to consider only USA or UK...!).
Thanks!
