I love the Print-action. This makes my work easier.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).

Yeah, I just fixed it for Thunderbird 78, see:
https://github.com/RealRaven2000/FiltaQuilla/releases/tag/3.0pre44

I might need to do some back-porting for THunderbird 68 too, not sure if all features still work there.

...on top of that, Thunderbird has removed xbl bindings (the whole foundation for the custom Elements that the filter editor UI of FIltaQuilla is based on). I am still trying to crack that particular nut before we even can get back to fixing features - compatibility with Tb78 is the biggest problem and the first one to solve. I would encourage you to add one issue for each broken feature here, so it doesn't get lost:

Yeah, and the best is "expression search / gmailui" that hasn't been updated since tb60 & adds body regex & many other regex options for javascript filtering in tb.. when the author of filta"quilla" never wanted to add regex filtering for the body. this addon's very limited to which parts javascript filtering can be applied.

I got your feature request - generally if the author of an Add-on has github this is the best place for asking for new functions. Downvoting usually has the opposite effect; it's just unnecessary pressure - consider a lot of Add-ons are free to use and take a freak-ton of time to deveop / update and fix.

FiltaQuilla has some great features. The one we miss the most since it doesn't yet work in TB 78 is the "Do not notify" option. I'd be happy to make a donation to support continued development, but can't figure out how to do that.

I am currently working on Thunderbird 78 conversion, please subscribe to this thread:

You can donate via my quickFilters donation page (I think you can add Filtaquilla to the comment / subject line while donating)

My company is called song craft studios btw.

FiltaQuilla was brilliant, I hope donation I have made helps toward making it compatible with 78. As others have said, automatically printing emails saves hours - certainly worth another few $$$ on a license fee when its updated.

Thanks - I am still checking my donation payments and cannot find anything wiht a Filtaquilla reference (I guess you used the donation link for quickFilters? - paypal makes it kind of difficult to search for) - get in touch if you can just to make sure this transaction wasn't lost!

what is it with addons regularly becoming incompatible with thunderbird? the extension works fine when it does, but messes up the filters when it is incompatible. would give full 5* if did not invalidate filters when incompatible. maybe set them to inactive somehow?
Edit: in case it is unclear, i do not blame the developer for extensions becomming incompatible, on the contrary i appreciate the effort put in so far and realize they are not to blame. furthermore, i hope that average-Joe users (me) complaint is forwarded to the core TB devs, as it seems they lost touch with the base.

This comes from Mozilla's constant changes. They have a big one in preparation the switch to "mail extensions" which is what Firefox did a few years back when _they_ pulled the plug on legacy Add-ons. Thunderbird uses the Firefox code base (mozilla-central) as foundation, so they had to eventually follow suit.

This means Add-ons are only allowed special restricted APIs for carrying out their tasks - these are not complete!

Since we are not there yet (I would say not even 5% of what sophisticated Add-ons need in the Mail sphere) there is an interim step - packaging the Add-on as a "mail experiment". but this takes time and resources (and will still break functionality if not done correctly) - we have spent 250hours on conversion efforst for my Add-ons, but the paid licensed ones will have to be completed first before I can do it with the "free as in beer" ones. It is very hard to find developers with this knowledge!

If you are or know a developer who would like to get involved please feel free to leave a comment here:
https://github.com/RealRaven2000/FiltaQuilla/issues/64

If you want to help fund raising for converting FiltaQuilla consider buying a license for quickFilters Pro.

Such an awesome addon. I can't wait to be able to use it again. Miss it so much on TB 78.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).

Thanks - this will definitely come! I need it myself... but I need to device a strategy as I need to both fund the work and get enough time from my developer - we are currently focusing on getting QuickFolders and SmartTemplate ready. Then quickFilters and then _definitely_ FiltaQuilla!

Well, this is so wonderful addon plugin, I used to auto print my woo-commerce orders. I have one problem if someone can help please suggest, when the thunderbird receives an email, it prints automatically, but the problem is the billing page print so long, as I am using small billing machine, even I try to install printing tool addon but it is not compatible with thunderbird 68 version, how to set the page margin from the bottom so that it prints till the end of the text, not long plain page after the text. I hope you understand what i want to stay, Someone suggest me that there are other settings related to automatic printing for printingtools but printing tool adon is not working.

Worked great until TB 68.2.2 (actually broke for me back in late October 2019 after several TB updates were applied). I hope the author will get an updated version out soon. It's a great add-on !!!

Will do give me a few weeks because it's hard. This year was especially tricky because of Mozilla removing xbl bindings....

I use it for attachment extraction

thanks for the rating - make sure you set your actions on the filter to be extracted AFTER junk classification for extra stability

Brilliant!!!
I've been looking for a simple way to save all attachments from a message to a given folder, depending on the type of message. This addon + Filter Button by Christophk make this a breeze. I create a new filter to do whatever (like save all attachments to a given folder), and then I can use the "run filter" drop-down that Filter Button adds to the message to run the filter manually whenever I want!
One thing I wish it had: the ability to generate the filename that the attachment is saved as, and possibly a confirmation dialog like "Filter ran successfully".

Apparently there is no facility to reply to a "developer reply" so I am editing my review to reply to you.
I run Thunderbird 60.6.0.
It's working fine for me at the moment, I don't have any issues :-) just a short wishlist!
Thanks so much for your work. I don't get why some people leave one- or two-star reviews for free plugins just because they encounter some minor issues!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1).

Maybe go over to our issue tracker:

Which version of Thunderbird do you run? I am still working out some kinks with attachments in Tb60

Great message filter add-on. It saves me lot of time to save pdf attachments for later review. But I have an issue of 'Save Attachment To' action on network drive. Although I tried to save to a network drive, say '\\Kaa-sd-sf-01\Scan\EMAIL_ATTACHMENT', it always appears '\Kaa-sd-sf-01\Scan\EMAIL_ATTACHMENT' and then this filter rule fails to work after I restart Thunderbird. To make it work, I need to manually correct '\\' at the beginning of path. Do you have any idea? Thanks again for the good work!

I am running Windows 10 and TB 60.6.0 (32-bit).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1).

See:
https://github.com/RealRaven2000/FiltaQuilla/issues/2
for more detail. It's opening the edit dialog that removes the first backslash. the problem is that the Javascript string compiler reads "\\" as a single backslash (as the backslash is also used for escaping special characters)

The workaround is to add another backslash:

\\\my\network\path

great tool to get better and more refined filters but would it be possible to add regex to attachment name?
e.g. I need to only filter mails with attachments O-(\d)+-(TRA|PRF)-\d+\.pdf so they can be automatically printed

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1).

Sure, may be a good idea; attachment support is a little ropy at the moment anyway and needs a number of fixes - can you raise an issue here please?

Once upon a time , we had the body (regex) and from(regex)
And it worked so good for me.
Would you please include them again?
