Very useful addon and I use it all the time. Very happy to donate to the developer and support continued development. And 'Firefox user 1c344b' who complained about the popup - the developer does this for nothing and I am happy to be told it needed support. Freeware developers give up their private time to help the community but they need paying from time to time. A large amount of people contributing a small amount makes all the difference.

I use a ton of folders between my 10+ mail accounts. This is great for switching between my 30+ favorite folders, unread mail and all folders. I hated having to go to view->folders-> and select unread, favorites or all. The arrows on the pane view switcher are perfect. I've give this 10 stars if I could.

Testing 1.12beta2 with Thunderbird 52.4.0 (64-bit) on FreeBSD-CURRENT.
Nice! I had forgotten that the views existed.
You rated the add-on 4 out of 5 stars, but you didn't indicate any problem or suggestion that you'd like to see addressed. Help a guy out, tell me what the problem is. I may or may not be able to address it, but I'd like to know. ;-)

That's easier than I thought it would be. ;-) I'll try to find some time in the next few weeks to add the buttons back to Folder Pane View Switcher.

I can get the toolbar to show up by following the instructions in a previous response " If the view switcher isn't in the toolbar when you enable it, then right-click on the toolbar, select "Customize...", and add the "Folder Views" tool from the palette"
However that comes up is the standard pull-down list which allows you to switch with 2 clicks. I cannot get the add-on to work as before.
Any ideas?

Original response:
As it says at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/folder-pane-view-switcher/, the arrows are gone and at this time there is no way to get them back. The change was out of my control and I don't like it any more than you do.

This is an absolutely must have brilliant add-on. Unfortunately since updating to the latest version of Thunderbird (52.0.1), the Arrows to control which Folder Pane is viewed have disappeared.

I used this add-on all the time, but it seems broken since my update to Thunderbird 52 on Fedora. Using Thunderbird without this add-on is barely acceptable for my since I used the arrows all the time to quickly switch between view. Going to the menu is so devious.

could be a 6star add-on, if there were a checkbox list in the preferences where you can select what folder views you want to switch between
so it is a 5star add-on because it just makes what it is and promises ... and that reliable and easy

It almost solves the problem to quickly switch between your, unread, Favorite and All folders instead of going to View / Folder options.
This is something better version. but hope in future the favorite folders just stay on top rather switching and choosing options

Good job, nice functionality :-)
It would still be great if it was possible to select which folder views you want to see in the folder pane !

This extension works as advertised but it would be so much more useful if the views were selectable. For example, if I could just rotate between the All Folders and Favorites views and not have to scroll through ALL of the views that would be key.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.10).You can now! Check out the add-on preferences in the current version of the add-on.

Quite good, but missing a key feature: the ability to choose what views it switches between.
There are seven of them to scroll through(!), including compact versions of some. I wish I could choose to only switch between, say, All Folders and Favorite Folders, without having to scroll through so many others.
Despite that shortcoming this is a terrific add-on, and replaces a function that for whatever reason was removed from Thunderbird.
You can now select which views are active in the pop-up menu and/or arrows. Check out the add-on preferences in the current version of the add-on.

Any chance to fix that?
That would be great

Hate having to click through two levels of pull-down menus every time you want to switch from All Folders to Favorites or Unified views? This add-on elegantly solves the problem, giving instant access to the folder view options.
Other reviewers have asked for tabs instead of (or in addition to) arrows, but I think it is perfect as-is. Arrows occupy less real estate on the UI, and since navigation wraps around (Recent to All), you never click more than twice to get the view you want.

Excellent!
Being able to switch the view to the aggregated mail folders is simply something which needs to be core functionality...

Once upon a time, Tbird provided TABS to switch between folder sets. I was sad to see that functionality go.
Arrow toggling shaves some time off doing it via dropdown menu, but configurable TABS means you get to the desired folder set with a single click.
Please consider replacing the arrows with tabs. Options which should be included are the ability to select which folder views appear as tabs on the bar and selectable order of their appearance (i.e., unread on first tab, all on second tab, etc.).
Also, for the KB warriors, you could add hotkeys to jump directly to desired folder views.
Thanks for your efforts.
