I can't miss this anymore. Good thing it's made compatible with FF3 (see other user comments)

Schade dass dieses Add-on wohl nicht mehr weiterentwickelt wird. Die 08ter Version von Sunbirg ist nun schon einige Zeit auf dem Markt.

Please update this to FF3, it is one of the most handy extensions and I miss it!

Thank you Fentzy and others for tweaking this for FF3. I used the changed file you linked to and it's working fine. This is a great, simple extension, very useful.

Followed the 6 steps and I'm back in full swing. Great add-on.

This is a great little add-on and I recommend it to everyone.
FF3: Seems to work fine with FF3, as-is, just change config setting "extensions.checkCompatibility" to false (via about:config).
Now FF will tell you if something is incompatible, but you can choose to enable it. Use with caution for other [incompatible] add-ons!

Forcing an install seems to work just fine with no negative effects. Very helpful extension! If somebody could just adopt the project and finish it with FF3 official compatibility...

I hacked it myself to work for Firefox 3.0 with the information here (thanks everyone!). I figured I'd save everyone else the trouble by uploading my hacked working version to a free file server for others to download.

If it's such a simple step to fix this for FF3, why doesn't the developer do this and publish it? Do you have to give blood to update your code or something?

I did what James did with the MR Tech Toolkit - just installed it, then installed MinimizeToTray and it works. MTT developer, try this for your FF3 fans: http://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2008/03/24/firefox-add-on-compatibility-plan-for-addonsmozillaorg/

I knew the way to make a add-on compatible, but it did not work from first try after I modified the rdf file (it kept saying that the addon will be installed next time FF3 starts). But worked the next day, after a restart..
Also, you can try MinimizeToTrayEnhancer add-on, and then add a toolbar button that minimizes FF by customizing the toolbar buttons.

There! For some reason it worked this time using James's. So not sure what happened. Thanks all!

I tried both James's fix and witkedm's and both give me the error about missing a dll so it doesn't work. :( I'm so missing this and several of my other extensions. Stinks...
