Very useful for screening spam messages and making filter rules.

Utterly vital add-on for security and spam determination. I still can’t believe that this has not been implemented directly in Thunderbird!

Must have! Thank you

I don't believe they need full access to my computer, so I didn't install it. Even my family doesn't have full access to my computer!
This is a feature that should be native to Thunderbird!

The previous version (Show Address Only) did not require any permissions, and this one demands "full, unlimited access to Thunderbird and your computer". Is this add-on safe?
I liked the previous version (5*) but I won't install this one. I don't understand why I should give such wide authorizations... :-(
Currently (TB78) there is no permission-based API to modify message list layout. Only way to do it is by using Experiment API (https://thunderbird-webextensions.readthedocs.io/en/68/how-to/experiments.html), which runs without any restrictions, as it did pre-TB68. Previous version ("Show Address Only" add-on) used to run on same permission level, with full local privileges.
You shouldn't trust software downloaded from Internet or take anyone's (especially author's) word for it. The addon's source code is tiny and available at https://github.com/lkosson/full-address-column.

Just like the others, found my way here from desperation. this should be something default in thunderbird, email clients like the old days, why on earth is this not a default option! thanks for updating this.

Thank you for updating this from the original addon

I am very glad, that someone reimplemented this neccessary addon.
But I also kindly like to ask, why the addon needs full access on thunderbird and my computer?
Addons can either use built-in APIs (new in TB68, severly limited functionality, but with fine-grained permissions) or directly interact with Thunderbird (as powerful as pre-TB68 addons, but without any permission control).
Currently there is no API to modify or extend message list view, so only way to achieve this functionality is via direct interaction, which requires full access.
Feel free to grab the addon source from github, review it (it's tiny) and install it from local copy. I'm afraid there is no way for me to prove addon is safe and I can't change required permission level.

Essential add-on to help fight spam. Worthy successor to "Show Address Only"

Thank you so much for bringing back this essential feature! This is an important tool to detect scammers, who always send using fake email addresses, even through the display name may be aliased to something like Walmart or a bank. Comparing the display name against the sender's real email address is a primary means to detect a fake.

The older "Show address only" add-on was very useful, but it is not working now. Thank you for updating new alternative add-on.
