Addon is really useful, this feature should be built in Thunderbird.
Also support is really quick - definitely 5 star

Great functionality, great enhancement. The default design, however, does not integrate very nicely into the default Thunderbird UI. But thanks to the extensive options, I was able to tweak its visual appearance to have a perfect fit:

Thank you for maintaining this extension!

and well done on finding a visual style you find pleasing von your particular operating system / mail application :-) feel free to suggest another theme but bear in mind that the look of the host program (I support three, Thunderbird , SeaMonkey and Postbox) is very largely dependant on the skin your current operating system uses [so you already have 9 different looks by just using one version of each OS with default style. On Windows alone you can have a multitude of looks dependant on the skin you use - I personally use Windowblinds to further vary the look adn full themes on Thunderbird to modify the look even more - I highly recommend Nautipolis] so it is practically impossible to support all different looks without making this a full time job. Also I do not currently own a Macintosh so I can't even guess how my tabs are going to look on there.

My advice for a most native look would be to use the theme "native tabs" (I designed the QuickFolders with tabs in mind, even before Thunderbird supported tabs) or toolbarbuttons. I personally prefer something more colorful, hence "Flat Tabs" is the default.

I hope you will find Quickfolders a useful tool in the future, and let me remark that although the user interface is a big part of it, the main focus of this extension is actually about productivity. I am still learning myself what can be done with it, and I am working on the development for 5 years now. Make sure to reach out to me for the latest prereleases and to test drive the newest features I have come up with.

I absolutely love this add-on. I get about 100 emails a day and use this add-on as well as the QuickFilters and it sorts and files my emails into convenient folders so I can read the most important ones first and save the others for when I have time.

This add-on save me so much time and I have not found an thing wrong with it. Great Work Dev.

een geweldige add-on die bovendien op een zeer goede manier is geïmplementeerd. De service nadien is buitengewoon. Petje af!

This is a longstanding excellent add-in, been using it for years. try it yourself and see. I am a crank and rarely leave a totally positive review, but not found any complaints about this one yet!

in conjunction with virtual folders this is an invaluable add-on. What I have really been impressed by is the speed of bug-fixing especially when "bugs" are introduced as a result of TB daily updates - essentially some changes in TB making the add-on no longer compatible. This has happened recently several updates in a row and the author has quickly turned around with pre-release versions to deal with the new TB code

My gateway supports automatic forwarding to IMAP folders based on header information. Trying to keep the five folders I continually need to access in the same place on the screen in Thunderbird - is impossible without QuickFolders. With QuickFolders its simple and elegant.

And when I found and reported a small (but annoying to me) bug - I had fix a day later. That's hard to beat. I strongly recommend this product for email pros.

I run a couple of business, which means that I have to read and keep track of a lot of emails. After finally giving up on the hope of Eudora OSE upgrades, I found myself *far* from in love with T-Bird 17. OSE itself was a departure from Qualcomm's great product that I used for years (until Win7), earlier TB's were a little more, and v17 moved even farther away from what I need, with its folder behavior. That is, until I came across QuickFolders. Now, I can keep the 10 or so folders that I use every day at the top, and run the program like I used to use Eudora 5. It's actually better than Eudora OSE -- assuming it was suddenly bug-free -- because it doesn't create multiple tabs when accessing folders that were already open. It makes Thunderbird useful again.

Great addon. I disabled the toolbar, but I find it terrible to still see the toolbar for 1 or 2 seconds when I start-up Thunderbird. How can I resolve this?

you could try post a bug report on support, I cannot promise that it is easy to fix or fixable at all.

If you have a ton of folders in your email like I do (and after nearly 20 years of emails in my business, there are a lot of folders), QuickFolders is a godsend. It saves a lot of time to just click on a tab for a folder to go there instantly. Thank you for creating such an incredibly useful add-on.

Not only this is a great add-on to enhance the mail windows, its author is actively maintaining it for both Thunderbird and SeaMonkey, diligently reading bug reports and fixing problems found by users of both mailers on all three of Windows, Linux and Mac, and on 32- and 64-bit processors. :-) :-) :-)

This is the best Add-In ever. Instead of hunting through a list of local folders that look the same in order to file my emails into, I can now simply move them to and retrieve them from, the ones I am currently using the most. It is easy and quick - as the Quickfolders are visually prominent and stand out. I can display the ones I am working on as they change ... project-by-project and client-to-client - in a snap. It even works for sub-folders too.The support is amazing. I have compromised eye sight, and Alex entered into a string of detailed emails with me, helping me so that I could more easily handle the Toolbar. Absolutely 5 stars!

A practically indispensable add-on for Thunderbird! It's the first add-on that I make sure works, before doing any upgrade; I can't live without it!

This Add-On is a great help in the daily battle of sorting incoming eMails. The clean and easy-to-use TAB interface makes organizing eMails quite easy. I am using this Add-On for some time now and find it astonishing, that the author is consistently adding new features. He also does a great job at fixing bugs and adapting QuickFolders to new Thunderbird releases. So far I haven't experienced serious malfunctions.

This is a great add-on! Is is possible to make an add-on that will color the folders within Firefox bookmarks so I can color-code them? Thanks.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.7.3).

Thanks -there is an addon called Color Folders which does colors the mail folders in Firefox, is that what you mean? You might want to contact its author he might be interested in creating one for Firefox as well...
