Good - thanks for the extension. One problem - the added signatures disappear when TB crashes. It's a real pain to have to go back and re-add the signatures all the time.

Would be a whole lot better if you could have the option to insert at the cursor point rather than the endd of the message.

Overall works as advertised, I guess, but I'd like it a whole lot better if it would put the signature in the same place I specify for auto-quoting placement in Thunderbird's Account Settings / Composition & Addressing -- in particular, above the quote as others have mentioned.

Another improvement would be for it to support different settings for different email accounts. One size doesn't fit all...

An useless add-on for people who keep long discussions through mails because of its signature insertion point which is only at the bottom of the reply. Unfortunately, for me, I can't use it like this. Otherwise excellent extension, if you like the signature at the end of mail it works very good.

Essentially a great extension ... Unfortunately, having the signature appear at the bottom renders it practically useless.

Nice idea and a good start, but it could be easier to use. It needs an option to retrieve program output directly without writing shell scripts to do all the work for it.

Unfortunately useless if your sig is at the top below your reply - like most people do - because it puts it at the bottom. Please fix this!

Needs to allow signatures at the top, as an option.

I use this to change the signature based upon the recipient or mailing list, and it works as advertised. And since I think top-posting is a bad habit, this add-on helps me to break that habit.

The FAQ helped me understand how the add-on works and to resolve the line break issue.

would be just what I was looking for IF (as other said) it could add signature not only at the bottom at replies.

Please fix it and I get back for a 5 star rating

Otherwise looks great for bottom sig people. Wish I could use it!

I agree. Great Add-on, but I add signature after reply as do most people I know. It is of limited usefulness to me in its present form - would be perfect with this one change.

Great Addon. BUT...

I would give 5 stars if it would be possible to insert the signature text UNDER your reply NOT under the complete mail...

Apart from that great addon

I am always appreciative of the work open source developers do, but there are some definite and useful improvements, which could be done with signature switch, such as allowing the signature to be put at the end of a reply, now it must go at the message, so I copy and paste it.

Nice tool, but it's currently still of limited use for people who have multiple accounts set up under Thunderbird. I have one work account and several personal accounts: it's currently not possible to automatically have Signature Switch pick a matching pre-defined signature for each account. Unfortunately, this limitation is in my eyes currently not mentioned prominently enough (until you read the ToDo list...). I hope this will soon be implemented, because then it's going to be a great extension!

Extremely useful, especially if you don't want to use signatures in every mail. You can create your own (yippie!) shortcuts even for toggling your signatures. It's possible to combine the tool with the defaults of Thunderbird itself, so that you start with a different default for each account. It should be said that toggling starts with the second signature then, no matter which one you chose as default (only if you toggle starting from "no signature" it starts with the first one).

QuickText is an extension that makes templates, and for which you have to pay to use scripts.

Sig Switch is a really free addon, which permit the use of quick and easy fortune cookies as sigs.
Wonderful.

If the "to" selection may be repeared (linux, t-bird 2.0.0.9), il would be the graal.

I had the same problem: it stopped working automatically. So I uninstalled 1.6.2, manually *removed* all "signatureswitch" entries from prefs.js in my profile, then installed 1.6.3 from the developer's Web site. It works again. I'm still taking off a star because it's not as responsive as I would like: I have to go back and click the recipient's address to get the signature to switch automatically.

It used to work great for me, but it no longer automatically switches my signature depending on who I am sending an email to. I followed the link to the web page of the person who designed this extension and emailed him about the problem to ask for help, and never heard anything back. I'm very sad that it doesn't work correctly anymore.

I haven't used Signature Switch, but I've started to use Quicktext, and Quicktext seems like the better solution.
