it may be possible to make it work in 3.6, but why bother? It's already been replaced by OptimizeGoogle, which works much better.

It's easy to make it work in Firefox 3.6.
1. save to add-on to your desktop (save link as)
2. use 7-zip to open the file
3. take the "install" file out
4. open the install file with ultraedit-32 or something like notepad
5. go to line 65
6. change it to "3.7"
7. save it and take the file back into the "customizegoogle-0.76-fx+sm" file (drag it)
8. drag it to the add-ons window
9. restart firefox.
10 done!
Excellent add-on!

Get OptimizeGoogle - this add-on is dead.

This used to be a great addon. But it seems that it doesn't work the same over the past 6 months or so. The google streaming pages are glitchy, etc

So this this being killed off for the project "OptimizeGoogle"? If so, the creators here need to make a note and refer people over to that page.

Use the "OptimizeGoogle 0.77" add-on for FF 3.6 and later.
This version, "CustomizeGoogle" still works for earlier versions of Firefox.

With more than 10 million downloads, this developer could think about updating the addon for FF3.6.
This addon worked very well for all 3.5.x in blocking ads on the google's search result page. That feature alone is worth waiting for an update.

I call it, "humanity lost against google" for some reasone developers of great tool dropped the ball. It no longer blocks google to capture clicks, analytics data and all other stuff. The only part seems to be working is sticky google search preferences. what a loss.

No Longer Updated!
Use OptimizeGoogle instead (same thing but with updates) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/52498

Highly recommended. I can't imagine googling without it.

It was great until now. It's abandoned. I use now the replacement "OptimizeGoogle".

@Jeff The Riffer: You realize that a firefox extension is generally nothing BUT source code...right? There's some exceptions, but for the most part, it's JS, XUL, CSS, etc. I checked inside the jar.. it's all there.

Used to be this was an awesome extension for Firefox, made using Google really great.
Now it sucks because it's completely ineffective, and there hasn't been a new release in over a year.
It sucks even more because no source code was ever released, so no one can even try and update it. Boooooooo!

'hide invitations' must be DISabled in extension to re-enable gmail insert image functionality :(
I do not want to use google systems for bug reports so best of luck with that.
I wish there was a better way to test this extensions' features against gmail brokenness

After seeing other reviews, now, I realize what was going on. I was checking the sent data after I visited pages with google analytics and doing searches on google and everything was still sent to google as it used to be. I checked my settings on "customize google" yet the data was being sent.
I loved this addon and I am wondering if there is anything we could do for continued support.
For those who are looking for quick privacy from Google's data hunting, add these two lines to your hosts file. clients1.google.com is being used to send search / clicked link result data / google-analytics one is used to send analytics data on the sites you are visiting.
127.0.0.1 google-analytics.com
127.0.0.1 clients1.google.com
