After using it for 2.x 3.x the latest update TB 6.0.2 and Mailbox Alert doesn't work with the execute commando .
Treid with a clean install with ecleaner, treid differtent accounts, treid using it by TB mail filter, treid HTML option but commands arn't running when new mail arive. Using the test button does work. I hope it can be fixed soon I use it to blink the scroll lock led on keyboard for new mail (should be standard TB function in my opinion)

I just installed this, so I don't have much of a review yet. But for those who want the alert to stay until clicked, try using a popup duration of 86400 seconds. That's 24 hours. Go higher if you need longer than that. A week would be 604800 seconds.

I had forgotten how useful it is to see the actual email properties show up in a disappearing dialog, rather than just six might as well be random selections for any of all the email servers I had configured. Thanks so much for this add on -- I think it's actually going to reduce my stress level, just to not have to keep popping back and forth between work and the email client !

I'm using this since ~1,5 years now. Never got a single problem. Works perfect for me, I get notified about important mails sorted into a special folder only. No more distraction by notifications about low-priority mails. :-)

Great app! Just missing native Growl integration to get 5 stars! I circumvented that calling growlnotify as an external command (on OSX at least).
Thank you!

Ok I managed to work out the problems (i think) and it doesn't seem to be a problem of Mailbox Alert. However, there are a few features I'd REALLY like with this addon...
1) to be able to change the background of the alert, with either image or flat colour. The grey looks very boring, sorry!
2) to be able to have sender & subject of last message displayed.
3)if multiple messages, to go to inbox when clicked, and if single to open the message.
4) to not have a time-out for when the message alert disappears. An open to click a "dismiss button" or something like that.
Otherwise a great app for Thunderbird!

just hope the unified alert window can be message-based (like default alert windows in Thunderbird).

I've been using this addon for a while now and although I didn't use all of the features the ones I did use worked fine. However, I recently tried to set an alert for a subfolder (the mail is routed to the subfolder via a filter) of the Inbox and no matter what I did I could not get it to work (XP and Win7, 0.14.5). I realize that this is not the proper place to post questions or bugs but there seems to be no other way of contacting the developers. I also agree with another reviewer that it would be a nice enhancement to be able to set alerts in the filters as it would give a lot more flexibility to the product rather then just using folders.

A wonderful add-on, always among the first to be installed when I do a new TB installation.
Thanks for fixing the recent API issue by releasing version 0.14.5; my machine was going silent after random intervals for no apparent reason and because nobody else seemed to be reporting it I thought it was just me. Drove myself half batty trying to figure out what was triggering it.

Makes it really easy to integrate Thunderbird into my KDE4.
Thanks a lot!

Is there any chance of updating this extension to support PostBox 2 a variant of Thunderbird 3? See http://www.postbox-inc.com/extensions for more information.
Thank You,

I have been searching for a way to disable notification sounds for RSS feeds for the longest time. I am really glad to finally find an addon such as this to solve that particular problem. Thank you so much!

Much better than the built-in Thunderbird alert (which is embarrassingly poor for some reason).
I agree with Qho Li that this needs an option to make the pop-up stay on screen until it is acknowledged either by clicking to open the message or clicking a button to make the pop-up close. That way new messages are not missed if I'm away from the computer.
As far as future nice to have features, it would be nice if it could be configured to show x number of new messages. That way it would display more than just the last message.

Nice plugin. If add more the following 2 selections that is perfected: 1. An option for set the popup duration to "until on click"; 2. Open the message on tap or provide some option to be selected.
However, it is solved my question.
Thanks!

I've just installed the latest version of Thunderbird (3.1), and Mailbox Alert has been removed from my system, with all my settings .
Can someone help?
Thanks!

What a nice plugin...finally I can switch off the incoming mail sound for my less important email accounts. But will there be an update to support Thunderbird 3.1?

I love it, however it has a 'slight' bug, that I can't seem to work around. One of my favourite WAV email notifications lasts longer than the plug-in will play..so it's always cut short

it was simple enough, however, it behaves the same as regular TB 3.0.3 alert. Not able to define the notification alert to stay and vanish only when clicked. so, if I was away from the computer for a while, there's no way to know there is email pending to read.
