Living in Japan is not easy, mainly because everything is in Japanese.
there are some things that google translate just can cope with, and this is where rikaichan comes in play.
translates everything, really accurately and helps you learn along the way.
really REALLY good.

I love this add-on. It's changed the way I learn Japanese! (although it took me WAY too long to realize you have to hit "shift" twice to switch to the names dictionary) @nvermore82 - about the symbols you mention in the names dictionary: I think you're right (m) = "male name", (f) = "female". I think (s) = "surname" and (p) = "place name". Still don't know what (u) stands for. Perhaps "uncommon"? I never see it on names I recognize.

Simply perfect and the integration and easy-to-use is fantastic, a must have addon and for the complete learning for japanese I also recomend XHTML ruby support, to have furigana upper the kanji.

I love rikaichan to pieces but would LOVE to see a pop-up Ijisho!! Any word on development? I would so totally pay cash for that. I realize the with there being no mouse, one would have to finger highlight or something... anyone have any ideas?

I love this! It is very useful. The only thing I miss is some indicator to show whether Rikaichan is active or not. Maybe an icon in the status bar or similar. And of course, if toggled, then there should be a check mark in the tools menu to indicate that the toggle is already active.

Amazing program. I wish there was a Japanese-Japanese dictionary. When you reach higher levels in Japanese, JP-JP is far more useful and a lot more detailed

This is useful! just wish the pronunciation (in English alphabet) is provided, because I still can't read hiragana & katakana all that well.. :(

Top add-on, would recommend this to anybody learning Japanese (or German/French/Russian too apparently). Great stuff.

Very nice. Can you tell me if it's possible to make it so that you need to press and hold a key like CTRL to make the popup show up? I think its a little annoying to have it popup just by hovering over the text. thank you!

Rikaichan 1.04 doesn't work with Firefox 3.0.6. Comes up with an error at startup "Exception: TypeError: document.getElementByID("rikaichan-toggle-" + c) is null". please help!
