Alright, just in short: that's a fine utility.
To elaborate: it's good but it misses some targets.
Let's start with the easy to fix: it appears in firefox's addons window as "image save" even tho the name of the extension is "save images".
Now for the fluff: When you use this extension to save many images that were embedded in a web page (assuming you didn't configure it to blindly save everything) it pops a dialog box for every single image, asking for your approval yet the only identification of the image that you see in the dialog box is it's size and filename, so it doesn't always helps to identify the image and maybe a possible solution would be to make the dialog box contain a small thumbnail so it'd be easier to identify the image.
Basically, the author made the right choice to make the extension able to dialog per every image in the case that you only want to download -some- of the images in a web page, however, it can become a slow process if you want to download dozens of pictures from multiple tabs that also contain many images that you don't want. My suggestion would be that a double click on an image will automatically save it without any dialog boxes but with a notification that will auto-hide after a second.
The shortcuts are as follows:
Save images in current tab - Ctrl+Shift+S
Save images in tabs to the LEFT - Ctrl+Shift+L
Save images in tabs to the RIGHT - Ctrl+Shift+R
Save images in ALL tabs - Ctrl+Shift+A
Stop auto open/save images - Shift+Esc
Options - Ctrl+Shift+O
They were changed due to conflicts with other options. (The shortcuts may not work in Linux - do not know why)

Handy, but I agree with emanuels about keyboard shortcuts: pressing should emulate clicking , should = .
Other annoyance/bug: clicking doesn't cancel, but saves images too.

Shortcuts make a difference.

nice tool, but some hotkeys would make it perfect :)

It had keyboard shortcuts for opening, and for choosing "ok". (As I am always using it, my hand is in pain because of multiple right clicks on the mouse)
If it could save images in many selected tabs at the same time. (I guess the whole process could be easier than that already is)
And if it could detect the really important images through the image links on the page. (Explaining: not seldom the images that really matter to you are not in the page you're seeing, but hosted in another place, such as image hosting services, so if you want to save these bigger images you have first to open them in a new tab, otherwise, in these cases, you'll save only thumbnails and when you use to save many images be sure that ones hand will suffer a lot)
Just nice, but could be even better. We hope so!

I've had a few minor issues with version 0.5.1 starting back in FFX version 2.0.0.12, upgrading to 3.x hasn't resolved it. Images all open in one tab, but not all write to my chosen directory. I found that Add-on DownloadThemAll! works in tandem with S.I. to reliably resolve that issue.
If I launch DownloadThemAll from S.I.'s Save Images tab, I successfully get every image.

Fantastic!! Should be more fantastic if shortcut key has been provided for "Save Images".

I have been using this add-on everyday.
I love this so much that I would like to add a suggestion.
It would be great if this had a keyboard short cut. Or
even a one-click save all button. The button is just the
same with right-click. I use it so much that the context menu
becomes a hassle. I would give this add-on a 10 if it had
a shortcut or one-click button. :)
