Wer FireFTP installiert hat braucht keinen anderen Client mehr.

The fact that FireFTP uses and depends on the Firefox cache can be a usability problem. For example when checking to see if a FTP directory has been changed will often result in the same data being displayed and the changes not reflected at the client. The only way around this is to clear the Firefox cache. FireFTP needs to be able to clear it's own files from the cache, or not cache them.

I was using WS FTP pro for the longest time, and abandoned it when I tried Fire FTP.
Very intuitive interface, low on resources and SUPER easy to use, it gives you all the tools you need to update and maintain a small to medium website.
While probably not everything you need for a power user, it fills the bill for me.
One of my top 10 add-ons!

Very useful: simple, easy to use. I've been using this to update my websites on the fly for a while and it's been problem free. Thanks!

I too gave up on Smart FTP and have been using FireFTP for quite a while now. It's excellent - way better than any other FTP product I've used.
However, I too just found myself unable to delete a file and googling this thread saved my bacon. Turned out it was the iMacros plugin that was interfering. I disabled iMacros and all was fine. This needs fixing as there isn't even a warning that delete is being ignored.

Had no problems at all with 0.97.1 on XP SP2 talking to Ubuntu 7.10 vsftpd with SSL enabled. Much easier than having to figure out why Samba login won't work.

Two points. There is no log record that you can keep. You will have to ctrl "A" in the bottom frame and copy to a text file each time you want a record of your ftp activity. This is important if you are working on your customer's websites.
The latest factor is you can not delete any files since the last update was done. I have tried installing and uninstalling, ect.
And still the "Del" command will not allow you to remove any files. This is obviously a important factor and I can not stand behind this product until this is immediately fixed.
At the time of this writing, I can only advise to bookmark this page and wait until you see it has been fixed before you use it.
UPDATE: Feb.20, 2008 ---------------------------
I checked off debug mode for the future. Problem was solved yesterday. My guess is a new Firefox extension was the problem. When I uninstalled it, we were back to normal. I have been using FireFTP for about eight months now and it works flawlessly. This was the first problem I had.
In the future, I will look in this direction of adding extensions and checking if they conflict. This is a first as well with extensions conflicting. If it isn't this, then a simple registry conflict could have occurred, but I suspect it was with the new extension added.
In the end though, the problem I had lead me to new solutions to try as well as a backup, so some problems lead to better solutions, where I would not have found had the above not occurred.
As always, I can recommend your product again. I will check to see if checking off "Show debug" will create a log now where I can see what has occurred in every ftp session.
But there are other solutions as I mentioned which have helped me provide a backup solution should the above event occur again.

I was a die-hard SmartFTP user, but lately their newer versions have been buggy. Then I found FireFTP, and now I'm hooked! I love that it's integrated with my fave browser, Firefox, and it is so easy to configure and use. I can even tell it which programs to use when I want to open certain files (like html, php, etc). Once in a while, I do get some type of "trying to reconnect" issue that I haven't determined if it's my connection or the software, but other than that - this thing does what I need it to.
FYI, I am using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and FireFTP 0.97.1.

I really love this plugin - I just wish it wouldn't crash my browser half the time. Sometimes even a full system restart doesn't fix it, very annoying.

FireFTP has got to be the best FTP out there. Hopefully you'll be able to make a text editor which interacts with FireFTP, that'd just be way awesome.
Keep up the good work!
