Jeremy, the latest version of your add-on does not work. The .mp3 feature of this add-on does not work. I'm using the latest Pale-Moon. Which was released about an hour ago. Can you fix my favorite add-on? I miss downloading .mp3, especially when Casey Research makes an appearance on Cambridge House.

this add on was amazing loved using it and it was so easy but now there is nothing when i click on it to down load a youtube vid to mp3 or even mp4 and want to know why please as i really love this add on. if i have to pay a small fee to get it to work again i will but only if it works. please can any one help

Version 3.4.3
There is no MP3 option for download. No other options too, except MP4 video.
In add-on options, MP3 option is no longer listed in the Format tab to check it. Rest video-audio formats exists, but not listed in download list as options.
All this, after the Firefox update to version 31.0

I agree with Manfred mine keeps saying no download found. It was working fine just this morning. What was pretty cool with it is that it allowed me to download the 480p whereas other downloaders only did 360 on videos youtube was streaming at 480. The way it worked is I made sure I was viewing the youtube video at 480p and then selected the mp4 option on podcaster, the video would download as 480p. Again this is the best youtube video add on in my opinion. Download helper used to be good and offer you all the options but now seems like all their mp4s are limited to 360 only, I wish they would of left it along it used to be a great program. Now podcaster is in the lead.

Looks like Youtube only has the Dash formats online for a lot of videos now, which is going to limit a lot of videos. For now I'm working on patching in Dash support and looking into ways to disable it :)

Worked excellent without a hitch for many months then quit working last night, Tuesday 16 July, 2014. Tried all the disable- re-enable, remove and re-download, refresh etc.. listed. I REALLY love this add-on and appreciate all your work, Mr. Gregorio and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

I was surprised at how many types of sites and players it can rip from, and it generally downloads quickly. However, for certain types of players it is very slow and sometimes the link won't show up until you refresh several times, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Overall very useful and no serious problems.

Easy to use.
PS I know I've chosen 320 kbps, but did you know that the size of each downloaded file is enourmous!? 10–15 MB each!

Prior to this problem, this used to be the best MP3 youtube converter there is. Play the youtube video, click on the taskbar button, pick your format and it would download the MP3 file to any folder of your choice, and you could edit the name before downloading.
About two weeks ago it stopped working. It won't download the file properly and the file type selections are limited to to MP3 and MP4 where there were 4 file types before. The program used to write a tmp file to the directory before completing the download. It no longer does that.
I sent an email over a week ago to the developer and so far no response. It was truly the best converter out there. I've tried dozens of them.
I hope it gets fixed. Five stars when it works. One star for no developer attention.
(Thanks for the response Jeremy. The troubleshooting seemed to fix the download issue, but it now opens 3 command prompt windows while downloading and then closes them instead of simply writing the temp file and deleting it after. Is there a way to fix that? The temp file was much better than the having all the command prompt windows open.
It would have been useful if there had been an explanation on the firefox page of what the functions do in the options panel. That would have saved me and you a lot of time. Let me know about the command prompt window issue.)
When I get these last couple of issues figured out, I'll send you some money. This addon is well worth paying for.
Hi, you can restore the old file types from Tools -> Options -> Youtube MP3 Podcaster. HD is missing in the current build, but if you install a nightly from www.glimmersoft.com you'll get it back as well.
For the problems you're having downloading in general, try uninstalling the plugin from about:addons and then reinstalling.
You might also need to go to Tools -> YoutubeMP3 Podcaster -> Options -> Troubleshooting and click the 'Refresh Youtube' button. If you do that you'll want to find a long youtube video and let it play from start to finish. This will refresh to code logic that controls the Youtube Downloads. :)

When it's working, its a great addon. But I found a bug (W7 64, FF28.0): Sometimes when I want to download an mp3 of lets say 45 mins, it downloads it as an mp3 but its like 500mb and my phone wont play it. Such a strange thing: when I play it on my pc VLC plays as a video, just like on youtube. But it is an mp3, not mp4! I thought mp3's couldnt contain video, but apparently it can. Developer hasn't responded so far...

This an awesome extension! It works kinda well, what I mean is that it seems to break alongside with flashblock, but still, it's pretty impressive because I need the bitrate slider!

I gave this a low review because the program doesn't download the file "As Is" with the exact title. What it does is download MULTIPLE files on your computer with a DIFFERENT title than the original. It was a complete waste of my time and I would recommend downloading "YouTube to MP3 1.2.3" instead of this if you're intending to download any music files. I hope this helps!!

The idea behind my plug in is to do the conversion directly on the PC instead of going out to another site. :D

Works. But only if you have the patience to not convert too many files at once. Plus it annoyingly will first download the file in its original format and then convert it in the background in a manner that slows the computer down noticeably (yes, perhaps there is no other way, but it annoys me, still).

I liked the program but it has an unpleasant habit of opening a tab on my browser when I first open it up. I do not appreciate having tabs opened that I didn't choose to open myself. I have uninstalled this and will not use it again until this "feature" is removed. This is a bad business practice, as bad as McAfee trying to install itself every time I upgrade Flash, IMO. If you want to keep your customers, stop forcing them to look at a browser tab they're not interested in.

Need option to remove icon button from youtube page, i really dont want the icon appearing below the video.
currently i am using a style to make the icon smaller so it wouldnt break the layout, but if this option doesnt come soon i am gonna add it to adblock.
btw, just another suggestion:
can you add the options menu to the toolbar icon, thankyou
