With TB 3.1.4 and 0.2.25, there appears to be a bug with the keyboard and focus when you compose a new email. Keystrokes don't show up in the compose window until you click away to another area in the window (e.g., Subject line) and then click back. Did not have this problem with a slightly older version of TB 3.1
This is a great plugin. Indispensable in spite of the bug.

The best thunderbird plug-in ever done.
Simple, very well integrated, and with 100 emails receive per day, it's a MUST-HAVE plug-in.

This addon makes using Thunderbird worth all the other issues (imap anyone).. he has a development version on his site that works with 3.1 for anyone wondering. I'm currently using 0.2.25 without issues.

I too join the Nostalgy-for-3.1.chorus. Can't do Thunderbird without it. Also just made my first donation. :)

I've aborted the 3.1 upgrade when I saw Nostalgy was not compatible. This extension is by far the best I have!
Would be great to see it work with 3.1!

HEEELLLPPPP!!!
Hi everybody! Want to know what worthless is? Thunderbird without Nostalgy. Yep! Every since I upgraded to Thunderbird 3.1, I've been miserably looking for yet another FOSS email client because without Nostalgy, Thunderbird is fresh FOSS poop! Please help us, Mr. Frisch. My email depends on your diligence since there isn't much FOSS contribution for your superior extension :(

I hope you are going to update this for the new TB. I have missed the ease of filing emails in their folders.

Just found a Development release here.
I installed it and seems working ok.
But still waiting for official release.

This is not a plugin - THIS is a serious reason to use thunderbird. Since this plugin exists for thunderbird, it makes thunderbird a top mail client for us keyboardists.
I could probably switch mail client, but I would never want to live without Nostalgy.
Thunderbird is simply a platform requirement for this mail client UI... ;-)
In short: Essential plugin for thunderbird if you are keyboard centric or has lots of mail.

When can I expect a release that works with TB 3.1? I don't like to keep upgrading TB but the lightning team and the google calendar provider team keep forcing me to do so, they often release new version that says have tons of bug fixed (when I am troubled by their bugs most), and to use the bug fix release I have to upgrade to latest TB. Then I have to drop nostalgy.

Thanks troglobyte.
But I still can't install it.
I changed as you told and save but when I try to install error occured.
The error message says "Install script not found -204".
I only changed inside of install.rdf line 20.
Do you know what is wrong?

You can modify easily the current version to use with TB 3.1 (works fine) until an official version is released.
Just edit the install.rdf file inside the .xpi file (it´s a zipped archive) with a text editor and change the line 20: 3.0.*
with:
3.*
Save and reinstall the nostalgy-0.2.23-tb+sm.xpi extension

Great must have add-on.
Can't wait for TB3.1 compatible.
Thanks.

I love this add-on! I have well over 100 folders and managing them would be a nightmare if it wasn't for nostalgy. It is feature-rich and very customizable. This is a tool for people, like me, who do a *lot* of email.
I only wish it was maintained more attentively to stay current with Thunderbird updates. AFAIK, it currently isn't compatible with the recent 3.1 update to TB.

One of the greatest add-ons for Thunderbird ever.
It saves me hours of searching. Keep up the good work!
Is the update for 3.1 coming soon? Thanks!

I am an addict of keyboard shortcuts, so I can't live without this extension. However, it is VERY slow with some folders. Must be a bug: if I drag a message in a folder, instead of "s"aving it there with Nostalgy, it may take orders of magnitude less time.
Hope someone will fix this, so we can keep using it (and not move to the "archive it all and just search" Gmail approach)...
A serious performance bug has been detected and fixed in the current development version, which should appear as version 0.2.24 once it is approved on addons.mozilla.org.

This extension is invaluable, bridging the gap of much needed keyboard control for Thunderbird. A deep thanks to the author, as the lack of convenient keyboard-driven message moving has been a pain for me for some time.

Wow! What a wonderful add-on this is. I was using tabs previously, but closed all of them now. The keyboard shortcuts are perfect. Thanks!
