Very good add-on. I only use the quick saving feature, but this is a god's end.

Perfect. Saves time and works well with 3.0.

I love it, mostly. Using the keyboard is a Good Thing (tm)! However, as at least one other person has noted it can be very slow in some circumstances - notably when saving/moving messages to another folder. TAB completion can take a long time (10s of seconds) and saving so can return of control once the folder has been selected - quite what its doing in the interim I don't know but the processor usage hits 100% and the disk is thrashing! I do have an older machine (fast for 2002), but with 1Gb RAM, Ubuntu 8.04. Only other extension present is QuickFolders, which I also like - a clash?

Excellent extension: saves time, neat, decent. Especially for users with lots of (nested) folders.

A perfect productivity tool and compliment to Thunderbird! Currently using the development version since it hasen't been approved yet by mozilla.org but it works perfekt with 3.0.

Absolutely superb add-on. Must have for me and for all those who prefer to use keyboard over the mouse. Thanks to Alain!

I agree at TB3 version of Nostalgy is a must-have. I love this extension! FWIW, freeben's version mod hack below doesn't work for me. 'save' and 'go' commands fail with an error:
"Error: GetSearchInput is not defined
Source File: chrome://nostalgy/content/nostalgy.js
Line: 636".

Can you release a version for TB 3 ?
it works fine with TB3 but I needed to modify by hand install.rdf in xpi file and set em:maxVersion="3.0" manually.

Excellent, saves time.
Needs some more features, though:
Shortcut to tag emails, change shortcuts for tags, etc. TB only has a limited number of shortcuts for tags. Also, you can't customize the shortcuts, ie give different tags different shortcuts. You're stuck with what TB offers.

Great add-on! I just have a few suggestions for future versions:
1. Can there be an option to make the process automatically?
2. Can the actions include calling a command?
For example if the automatic option will be ON, it will move emails to the respective folders as they arrive.
and 2, with the command option the messages cannot only be moved to folders but to do actions, for example if a message with the subject "New Order" arrives, the command can be to open a pop-up, forward the message, run a program, etc. (i had this setup in Outlook where I would get text messages to my phone depending on the subject of the email, great when I was not home!)

Seriously needs the ability to search under more/custom header lines. If you operate from a saved search folder instead of an account folder, the utility of Nostalgy is extremely hampered.
Also, tried posting to the email list, but no response, and zero traffic on the list.

Hello,
Nostalgy is a verry useful addon for Thunderbird.
But sometime, it is verry slow. It can take one minute or more to move a message from a folder to an other.
Did anyboby already experienced that ? Have you any explanation for that ?
Many thanks in advance

Exceptional Addon, absolutely essential if you are primarily keyboard user.
It's not mentioned here yet, but the 3.0b of Thunderbird does not allow you to install this extension. However, you can install from the svn repository version on the developer's site. If you don't know what that means... this addon is good enough to justify learning.

This add-on is absolutely necessary for anyone with a large number of e-mail folders. Productivity when reading and handling e-mails is much higher with it than when using the mouse. The new "Statistical Prediction" rule makes it even better, typing just one key is usually sufficient to move any e-mail from your inbox (for instance) to anywhere you want it to be!

If you get heaps of emails and need to organise them, this add-on is indispensable. Saves so much time creating, maintaining and utilising a comprehensive and useful folder / tag system. For me, this is THE most useful add-on for Thunderbird by far!

This is one of the best productivity tools for Thunderbird. I can't imagine myself dragging multiple messages into nested folders again. This is a *great* tool for anyone with a substantial folder hierarchy.
Thank you for a great add-on.
